Fortress shipment
I have it in my deck with Dutch and Ports, what do guys you think about this shipment?
Re: Fortress shipment
Good for nations that need to grab map control and have trouble to do so (Dutch) or need all the resources they can get (Ports).
Don't let the things you can't change dictate your life.
Re: Fortress shipment
Typical nilla scrub card choice. It's fallen out of fashion on TAD, but used to be a staple on nilla back when I played it.
imo still a pretty good card though, provided you can get the fort up in a good position for map control.

oranges.
Re: Fortress shipment
Interesting that a card fell out of favor from nilla to TAD, given that TAD decks are larger.
About the fort: its really interesting and possibly good when the game has gotten really scrappy and you have to get hold of the last hunt/mine. Its really only a good choice when you're out of unit shipments and the game has reached the point where the upgrade cards just arent great anymore (somewhat low villager count, low army count). In that exact scenario, the fort is great. At least if it turns out theres a spot where you secure a lot of hunt included a possibility to actually place it there.
Its a lot of conditions for it to be really good, which dont happen as often. I used to have it in all decks, then removed it but made a specific fort deck (as dutch) and eventually even removed that deck. I elected for an extra unit shipment or a situationally much stronger card instead.

Re: Fortress shipment
Generally non-viable, but situationally viable, IMO. The main problem, given the aforementioned, is that it takes up a Fortress Age shipment slot.

Which one... 10 pikes, refrigeration, royal mint, 1000f or maybe merc card?
Re: Fortress shipment
As dutch its generally 4 huss/7 ruyters/1000c that takes that spot I believe.
Re: Fortress shipment
Refridgeru [sic] is a lot better than Royal Mint, isn't it?

It's 20% while royal mint is 25% and you usually have like 60/40 so it's close.

Re: Fortress shipment
Not as dutch ofc. But as dutch, isn't the church card or +1 bank better?

7 ruyters and 1000c are almost mandatory but i would argue for 4 huss. It's subpar fortress age shipment at best.

Its definitively better than 1000c and 7 ruyters imo.
Re: Fortress shipment
To be fair as Dutch and Ports fort shipment isn't even that bad. Both civs generally spare one slot and as Ports it could buy time, while as Dutch it can deny some resources on the map and help winning by starvation.
With all other civs you generally have better options.

12/9 * x/x is about good for dutch, so yes.

Re: Fortress shipment
I think this card can work sometimes but it mainly sucks, because it's so slow to build. Some wagons build very fast but this one can just get killed super easily. If you ship the fort while your opponent ships units you might just lose your fort because you get outmassed. And later on, I'd rather have upgrades.
But I guess on specific maps and specific civs it can work, for example as ports or dutch on maps where you need mapcontrol. Also for otto revolution. Other than that it sucks imo and either way it's super risky
RIP maths

I do understand what you mean, and you're wrong. 12/9 is 4/3 and 60/40 is 3/2. So what's your point ?

That it is close enough. Precision is overrated.

Re: Fortress shipment
Doesn't need to since it's x/x. The result will be 1 whatever the value of x is, even if it's 0
