Crap, I was sure I was replying to Imperial Noob's post that was written here, not in the Statistics for Asian & Euro Ships thread. I'll quote our joint efforts here then — sorry!

Frigate vs Tekkousen -> 4:1 (Edit: the one win for Tekkousen was when Frigate missed one shot from broadside, 2 fights were with no broadside)
Galleon vs Atakabune -> 2:0 (Edit: clear wins for Galleons. Boring to watch.)
Caravel vs Fune -> 5:1(Edit: the one where Fune won was the very first one and I guess I just ordered the attack animation earlier)
Apart form that, the duels were close in every case.

In the first try I messed up with the Broadside Attack and it got eventually sunk by the Fune. Frigate had 200—600 HP left after destroying the Tekkousen, Galleon — 200/300 having got rid of Atakabune. Evidence attached:

The skirmishes we ran for testing were pretty close altogether. The Japanese boats indeed do extremely well for their stats and cost — the British navy had just a tiny edge despite having more relevant cards. Bear in mind as well that the +2 range advantage of the Europeans wasn't taken into account. My initial statement then might not have been entirely incorrect then, though as I mentioned, Japs lose only in late game, once all necessary home-city shipments are sent.

Thanks, @Imperial Noob, for the tesht. That was quite a spectacle! :flowers: :ship: :export:

So japanese ships miss when the opponent is stationary? Or do the english ships move around?

They magically miss even when side by side. It happens to frigates too, a shot with an angle of 60 degrees lol...

Of course it does. Just for the Japanese apparently more so, to balance higher number of shots. Can't tell about Fuchuan, it would need to be tested.

I'll add ya. My main issue is late game. I often get ahead and then can't finish it off.

In the late game all you do is spam Gendarmes. Come on, you should know that!
