Game not displaying

I recently reinstalled AoE II on my pc. The game loads and i have audio, but no video. I double checked that i had direct play enabled. im at a loss as to what could be the issue.

Firstly, did you mean AoE3? This community isn't for AoE2 players.

I know it's dota2, but I encountered the same problem and the advices there helped me solve it. (in my case, it was about setting the resolution, which I did from the config txt in the game's folder). Good luck!
