Time is wise and our wounds seem to heal to the rhythm of aging,
But our past is a ghost fading out that at night it’s still haunting.

umeu wrote:how old are you? if you're over 18, imo the most lucrative market for you as a native english speaker is to teach/tutor English online. Rates start around 15 usd easily, and that's entry level. It takes a little bit of study to earn more, but you many places probably hire unqualified people, as long as they're native speakers. I guess not that great for the students, but great for you at least

you can also just sell stuff you have but don't need. i'm sure anyone who lives in a western country can easily make over 200$ quickly by selling stuff they don't need.

Any sources or guides to the online tutoring? I'm doing 'offline' tutoring at school but not for 15 usd/hour. I had a 9.4 for my finals and passed with a 9.7 on average so I should have the credentials.

The analogy you make is utterly wrong. Football players provide money to their respective club through recognition and sponsors and are an asset to the club. Whoring your body for people online is not the same at all. Please provide a different comparison.

No. More rather than less, unless you are volunteering. Working solely for the money only means the whoring is at 100%. It's not black and white, but whoring yourself is always part of paid work. No one who is ever hired makes a net gain. It's a zero-sum game and the employer is necessarily winning it. Fortunately, the employee could still be happy.

I assume female sex workers also provide a service valued by heterosexual men. Perhaps there is less skill involved, though.

Choosing to do a thing doesn't mean you are implicitly saying it's the only value you have. Camming is something you can do from home, whenever you want, and it's lucrative. I can see people doing it despite having a wide variety of other skills.

Ill ask around and send you a pm. I assume you're over 18, since you have taken the exams.

You can start by looking at bijleshuis.nl. I worked for them for a little while, you can tutor both on and offline. But it takes some time before you get a lot of work I think, and it depends on where you live as well. I think their rate was 16€.

You have to consider though that it sounds better than it is. Its before tax, though you probably dont have to pay much if dont work a lot. And you dont get paid for prep time.

I can see what you mean. And I guess I agree to a certain extent. I maybe should've said "only if you work for the money" which includes situations where you don't only work for the money, but doesn't necessarily include situations where you work and happen to get paid as well.

For me it comes down to answering this question. Would I still do the same job/work if I didn't need the money I'd get for it (or getting no money for it and assuming I don't need to do something else to survive). When I was working in hospitality a few years back, the answer would be a 110% fuck no. So that was pure "prostitution" in that sense. Now that I'm teaching the answer is yes, but not as much as I'm working now. So the prostitution level has decreased. But for writing, the answer would a resounding yes, always. Even though I get paid for it, I would still do the same if I didn't get paid for it. So imo it's different from the former two. Teaching is a bit of a blend between the former and the latter.

Sports require athleticism, skill, and years of training. By being good at sports you're proving that you're better than other people, in terms of fitness and skill. That's the reason why there are plenty of boys who dream about being a UFC fighter or a boxer, but not that many women who fantasize about selling their body for money.

thats not really true because not a whole lot of men fantasize about selling their body for money either. Sex is different. I think its better to compare boys dreams of UFC fighting or sports to a woman dreaming of being a model or actress or singer or even being a sports star herself

My post was actually arguing against the idea that athletic ability is the same as being a whore. I have no problem with boys if they want to be boxers, or women if they want to be singers, or vice-versa.

In which way that's a zero-sum game? A business it's a win win situation for both the employer and the employees.

i agree. I wouldnt judge a girl for that or judge myself as a girl. I would do it. Banging dudes for money is another story. I dont realy judge that kind of girl i just wouldnt want her. Pornstars that is. Prostitutes i kind of judge.

if the service of prostitution didn't add value, it wouldn't exist. It's as simple as that. People are willing to pay way more for a night with a prostitute, which for some reason by some of you is wrongly assumed to be exclusively female, than they are willing to pay for football match.

As GS already pointed out, choosing to do a profession, or in some cases, being forced either actually forced or left little alternative by circumstance, doesn't have to define your identity, and even less so your value as a human being. It's actually the people who harshly judge prostitutes (but sometimes sneakily make use of that service anyway) who reduce a person to the stigma they press upon those who practice that trade. And they often do everything in their power to make sure that this stigma can't be overcome and remains a stain upon their public image for the rest of their life. And there is honestly no rational reason for it. Perhaps there used to be a somewhat rational reason, fear of disease, but this myth has already been disproved. Prostitutes don't spread STD's more often than normal people do, and in fact, they often spread it less frequently. They're tested for std's more often, they are more acutely aware of the risk, and they have a better understanding of how to protect themselves as well.

There's a shit ton wrong with prostitution as a business, but there's not much wrong with being a prostitute. Just as there is a shit ton wrong with the car industry, yet there's little wrong with being a factory worker.
