Leather cannons
Been playing as Sweden recently, and have been trying to work out the point of leather cannons? I understand that it sounds good on paper to have a small cannon available in age 2 - but it seems too expensive early in the game (300f + 100w?) and too weak to use later in the game. Unless it's just so...

Goes to show how ottolame the whole thing is at the moment though. Someone send this to the devs so they can ignore it harder lol

Re: Opinion on New Natives
Of the previous natives the Mayan spearman got reworked to a sort of musketeer unit. It's almost like a 4.5 speed janissary with a little less hp. The Seminole sharktooth bowman got reworked to have a rof gimmick to fire faster when closer to a target so if you liked that unit I guess it is stronge...

Re: Opinion on New Natives
I used to love Cree trackers - also Huron mantlets as well. But a few people are saying that berbers are good, so I must remember to use them

Re: Opinion on New Natives
Royal house natives are almost always worth it in mid to late game due to their units, techs or big buttons. Berbers and akans are good african natives. Old natives are mostly the same, except jesuits are mega buffed. Thanks for the tips. Useful to know about the Jesuitâs being buffed, didnât know ...

Opinion on New Natives
Been playing a bit of DE recently and Iâm a bit confused by how many natives there are. There used to be 12 - but DE (once including the new DLCS) has added another 16! Part of the fun used to be knowing which ones were good and which were pants lol. But Iâm clueless with these new ones. Which are y...

Re: N0el
Esoc - full of embezzled tax dollars. It has a global slush fund of at least $5. Once cut off from its primary monetary source, it can run for at least 2 days. We the people know whatâs going on.

Re: no walls
Yeah people tend to get stuck in a rut with their favorite maps based on how good the close by resources are. I got so sick of playing large Deccan LOL. I liked the old Sonora map, it was good as it had so many hunts and mines but they were mainly in the middle of the map. I think texas was good for...

Re: ESOC Update
Nice job on the updated page. Looks good! I just went on another forum for a different RTS game I used to play, just to see how it was getting on. Hadn't been on it since I was a kid - apparently no one else had either cos the last post was a sad goodbye from the pages' manager 9 years ago lol. So g...
Re: Bye
Fair enough to be honest. Sometimes it's good to be honest and admit when we don't have the time or inclination to do something. I'ts nice that DE is here - just a pity that it's a decade late for many of us who now don't have the time to really learn it. And with TAD being 15years old and now total...

Re: Kings of the Old World - 6000$ AOE3 Tournament
Fantastic to see how AOE 3 has bounced back. Just goes to show what happens when a dedicated community keeps something alive :) So many other RTS games from the noughties just haven't stuck around the same, with the halls of many forums slowly emptying... Feels like AOE may be hitting a bit of a gol...

USA Expansion Storage Space
Quick question, does anyone know how much storage space the USA expansion needs for 3 DE? Or is it built into the game already, like the DLC in AOE2 DE where it's already in the game and you pay to "unlock" it? Not sure if this belongs in the tech support thread, but seemed like the most r...

Re: Is there even any hope ?
A couple new civs would have been welcome tbh. Just not cancer civ like Sweden and Inca. I would still like to see some more civs. AOE2 DE is getting the expansion with the Sicily and the Burgundians (which is hilarious that the final DEFINITIVE edition is getting an add on, but ironic lol) which m...

Re: Outlaw/Mercenary rating for DE!
Itâs a good table actually, I like it a lot :) I might have moved black riders down a notch into tier A as I think theyâre slightly overrated for the few scenarios theyâre good in. And I might move Highlanders / Fusiliers up a level to Tier S as I think theyâre nearly always useful, and are very str...

Re: Goodbye aoe 3
It is sad though, I went online yesterday and there were 92 people online - and itâs not that everyoneâs moved onto DE, they havenât. I almost feel like rather than being the rebirth of AOE3 that DE was meant to be, itâs been the final nail in the coffin. Farewell, hope you come back soon :) lol ma...
