Yup seems a very fair reply from Kaiser to me too. There's really nothing left to discuss here - fair play.

Tbf I've not seen anyone say Kaiser has to or should be forced to do anything. Just people saying what they'd like to see happen.gibson wrote:There really shouldn’t be any drama, it’s Kaiser’s tourney if he doesn’t want breeze playing that’s it.

Re: #BreezeStillAlive
Source? I said "may be" as in it's an opinion. With the launch of AOE4, it's likely that major high profile events will be at a minimum smaller and less frequent. Don't think that's such an out there POV.iNcog wrote:source?EGCTV wrote:especially as this may be the last major AOE3 tournament.

Re: #BreezeStillAlive
I've contributed to the tournament regardless, but do wanna say I concur with Zanerre's point. I think this event is an opportunity for a bit of a reset, and in the spirit of community, I'd love to see his entry facilitated. Obviously he is someone that divides opinion, but there are many players th...

Re: The $1,500 African Championship of AOE3!!
I just don't understand why Fitzbro and Aussie drongo really want to play there. without wanting to step closer to both, the two are clearly worse. one only played lakota at a moderate level and the other can apparently only achieve good results with a highly unbalanced civilization. and now the tw...

He spawned cannons and mamalukes and still lost? Was his opponent playing as Sweden by any chance?

Re: my aoe3 story
So awesome to see this insight into your story. Often people forget about the ‘S’ in RTS. And if reinventing part of the meta and using it to beat one of the most talented players in the history of the game isn’t strategy, then I don’t know what is. You should be massively proud of what you achieved...

So the takeaway from this research is that Sweden are fine and people just get particularly salty losing to them?

Re: Too much ports and sweden in tourneys
Therein lies my point. Ban Sweden: 'But wtf, Portugal is just as OP.' K, Ban Sweden and Portugal: 'But wtf, neither of these are anything compared to Spanish Log on water'. K, Ban Sweden, Portugal and Spain: Okay but then nothing comes close to Haud on a water map.... Ad infinitum. I got your point...

Re: Too much ports and sweden in tourneys
Honestly more than anything, I find the whole debate the be rather mute. Even if Kaiserklein is correct that this is unprecedented lame, it's still impossible to do much about. It's not like it's even just Ports and Sweden. As noted, the Spanish logistician on water is probably even stronger than bo...

Re: Too much ports and sweden in tourneys
Bram basically hits this on the head. For the history of AOE3 tournaments, a few civs have dominated. Maybe some people are just upset that at the moment the pendulum hasn't swung towards France/Germany. There will ALWAYS be dominant civilisations that have strong metas putting them ahead of everyth...
