Re: ESOC Staff Changes
I feel like I'm on a sinking ship and everyone else keeps climbing higher to the dry bits hoping that if they delay a little longer the boat might magically fix itself. Weren't things like this a big part of why 91 said he left? Now, my perspective is only from a forum poster standpoint, but from he...

Re: shit servers!
I played 4 games and got disconnected after only one of them. On the plus side, I haven't gotten randomly disconnected mid game since the new server.. not sure if it's the server or something changed on my end, though.

Re: Favorite color in the game
Oh, well excuse me. I had no idea you would treat online flaming with such levity after you showed such a remarkable ability to treat online interactions as serious. Your joke was not in the slightest an obvious one. Without italics, you can't exactly inflect on a forum. I'm not sure if you are con...

Re: Favorite color in the game
Is it so unreasonable for me to have to assume you were being serious about being flamed online after you made a very large thread about it? It's not like you're a known quantity on this forum who has a reputation for being facetious. my thread was about gender based *harassment*, not being called ...

Re: Why it matters
lol Kaiserklein just bc you keep saying it doesn't make it true. Let me try wording it another way so you can comprehend. Saying that "gypsie" is worse than "wetback" is pointless and doesn't make sense. That's what your're accusing me of. What I'm ACTUALLY saying is that calling...

@iwillspankyou notification thank you for commenting in my thread. I agree, I was very interesting and glad to have engaging conversations for some users and am good witht the dialogue between umue, incog, and a few others but some other people just seem intent on dismissing. It's getting boring

Re: Why it matters
@umeu notification , I'm not sure if I've made it clear that I am not talking about simply being offended, but I'm not. Also, in this thread I am mainly talking about sexism because that's my personal experience. I'm definitely not wanting to exclude anyone from the conversation, but I can only rea...

Lol why do you react like this ? He was arguing courteously, just saying that you shouldn't have double standards like that, and you just ignore his post and ask him to leave. Why do you open a thread to discuss and then act like this ? You're losing all your credibility really no, he was "not...

Re: Why it matters
A valid question. Dick doesn't have a history of oppression contributing to its interpretation, though. Asshole isn't offensive that I know of, unlike "butt-hurt" which may have a terrible origin. Asshole and damn... yes are "swear words" but are not slurs so I don't get what yo...

@musketjr notification , well I'm not triggered by sexist language, but it is hurtful. @iNcog notification I agree with the idea of *actual* free speech, but I hope you don't extend that to threats and sustained harassment. @Goodspeed notification if you think that by saying basically "you sho...

Re: Why it matters
Well OP you might want to edit your original post and add /girls and woman/women there beside their male equivalent. Because at the moment it sounds as if you are assuming that it's only men who do the harassment when people are anonymous. Which in itself is a sexist assumption. (The assumption is ...

Re: Why it matters
Well, the question would be why are certain words deemed inappropriate beyond the context of mere etiquette. You mention for example a history of oppression, are there other qualifications? Before you said that the feelings of others should be considered, so in that sense goddamnit shouldnt be used...
