Re: [Official] EP change suggestion

Lol

Seems like you’re misinterpreting a lot of what I’m saying. I’ll write a proper response later, as I am tired and can’t be bothered to read and write on my phone.

To be honest it sounds like we want the same thing, and you’re just arguing that it’s impossible.

Re: The problem with walls

I think best way(*most elegant) to beat wall is trade monopoly, its a good design. Directly punishing giving up the map. I agree response to walling should not be only walling. you could perhaps make Trade Monopoly cost 500 resources each more, but also make it increase TP's HP to 5000; normally it...

Re: [Official] EP change suggestion

u845 I’m a bit tired and on my phone so I’m not going to write a very detailed reply right now. What I was describing is a bit of an extreme, yes. I don’t think RE is like that; well, not in most cases anyway. I’m not trying to standardize everything. If anything, I think been more strongly against...

Re: [Official] EP change suggestion

That's just asking to turn the game back into a giant flowchart of matchup counters. Civs need to be stronger at different stages of the game, but I don't think the gap should be so massive that you're left with civs who must play a specific way or lose. There needs to be room to adapt your build a ...

Re: What I know about the current EP team

EP tried to balance mostly, and did a good job at it, but also tried to redesign the game and did a bad job at it. They destroyed variety of civs and playstyles and that's sad. And now you're running around saying RE is bad without ever providing any logic. I can feel it, you guys ruining aoe3DE wi...

Re: Who needs cows more?

India for first 8mins then china or jap, thats actually a big difference for jap eco for livestock on shrines, its like 0.5 to 0.76 or stm and thats per shrine per second Tbh you can just give them to a non japan ally, let them fatten, eat them, then spend a small percentage of that food on sheep a...

Re: [Official] EP change suggestion

There needs to be more all in but strong timing civs though, generally more interesting to watch and more interesting to play rather than this greed meta, otto sioux iro are all in civs and should be kept that way All in should only work as a surprise, else it's broken. The issue tbh is that it's t...

Re: What is your favourite( And least favourite ) civilization?

Iro is my current favourite because it's the black sheep of RE and is so underplayed on EP. My previous favourite was Dutch, but after losing endlessly it stopped being my fav. The one I don't like is maybe Germans, I have almost zero games as them and they always gave me hard time as Dutch. Iro is...

Re: Puma running animation after attacking

Works that way for most melee attacks in the game, except for specific things like hand cav in melee mode (actually even hand cav gets it in other modes, which is quite interesting as defend mode could be considered superior to regular melee due to this). Damn it. I never run out of things to test ...

Re: The problem with walls

Yeah. Maybe just make them slightly weaker after the upgrade or something. Dunno. Maybe add multipliers to walls onto specific siege units like cannons/mortars? That way you still need siege to deal with it.

Re: The problem with walls

You know you're on ESOC when you and two dozen others criticize walls for turning the game into a non-interactive grindfest as opposed to a high-action RTS where scouting and adaptation is key, and your points are refuted because you're a couple of guys who don't want to adapt. If anything scouting...

Re: The problem with walls

I agree that in team games they might be a bit much. In 1v1 they're not much of a problem though, IMO.

I do feel like without walls, though, I would start hearing complaints about how the team that raids or cav boxes the most always wins.

Re: What I know about the current EP team

Personally I'm fine with changing some of the stuff that's lesser used in this game, such as Grenadiers, Flail Elephants, Spies, etc. These units shouldn't be instant-losses when you build them, but I think buffs to these units should be very small: small enough that they're not complete garbage, ma...

Re: The problem with walls

200-300 resources is not nothing, and I definitely don't think that wooden walls "always" give you an advantage. On RE, maybe, but this is definitely not the case on EP.

Bastioned walls might be a problem in that regard, though.

Re: The problem with walls

Lol I didn't expect people to actually take this seriously, so let me provide a little context for this thread. 3v3 Siberia, 30 minutes into the game, I'm pushing breeze hard and he has lost his army and doesn't have the ability to remass quickly enough to deal with it, so ofc he makes 10-15 layers...

Re: The problem with walls

That’s fair, but I think most civilizations have reasonable lategames, and those that don’t often have strong enough early or mid games to compensate. Most of the time you can still win off of the advantage you get from map control without fully transitioning to mills and plantations anyway, regardl...
