Re: Mid term election in USA could have big importance to us all

If you have lived your whole life in a dictatorship with little contact with other nations, it's not strange if you do not understand how democracy could work. Ye, I don’t get why it has been allowed to be like this for so long either. Trump may be unstable, but for better and worse, he isn’t afraid...

https://www.scmp.com/comment/insight-opinion/united-states/article/2164172/going-postal-how-donald-trump-threatening For once I agree with Trump. China is a dictatorship that take advantage of both their own population as well as other countries. Trump do have the courage to address these problems ...

Re: Ideas for an AoE 3 drinking game

So last night the Basement finally played another full length treaty game after a long time. I'm going to do a full write up on how the game went soon, but I came up with an idea for a very fun Basement game: an AoE 3 drinking game. So far my ideas are mainly for treaty but I'm open to suggestions ...

Re: Life Tip of the Day 9: Make sure to join the liberal side of the liberalism vs. fascism debate

Sure. How would we get in the right mindset, with propaganda and anti-intellectualism as widespread as it is? Reminder: Trump didn't win the majority vote and very probably colluded with a hostile foreign power, or at least tried to, to get elected. There's the highly partisan "news" outl...

I doubt there really is anyone here who disagrees with that the politics are moving in the wrong directions in quite a few places or that we need to take better care of the environment. The question is what we should do about it.

Re: Life Tip of the Day 9: Make sure to join the liberal side of the liberalism vs. fascism debate

Today traditional hard-core fascism, Mussolini's Italy for example, is mixed together with any national movement as if they were the same thing. Just because you have one thing in common with fascism, wanting a stronger national state for example, doesn’t mean they agree with anything else from fasc...

Did you read either of the articles I posted? This is about political organizations throwing away core democratic values and the people being okay with it because they were fed lies and/or aren't paying attention. I doubt that's happening in Sweden, but it certainly is happening in a lot of other p...

Re: Life Tip of the Day 9: Make sure to join the liberal side of the liberalism vs. fascism debate

Fascism growing across Europe and America is frightening. But equally frightening is what means are used to fight it and the overall climate of the debate on immigration/refugees. If we start with immigration, it is not racism to say that you want less refugees coming to your country. There is alway...

Re: [Treaty] What makes a good 1v1 map?

Does anyone agree with me and queen about a no nats map? Nah, way too slow paced. Depending on map size, they can be dragged out for quite a long time Wouldnt it be fine having one map where matches last longer and are exhausting? Yo gotta work on your endurance, lasting only 3 mins is not gonna ge...

Re: Treaty Patch |1.4|

Might be a bit ugly, but you could give Otto 400 population, multiply all of their units pop cost by 2, but only 1,5 for abus (making them 3 pop). You can give them a free tech at TC that makes all TC's and houses support 20 population. I think this would work fine, only problem would be if the Otto...

Re: [Treaty] What makes a good 1v1 map?

I think it is important that maps (both 1v1 and other) bring variety and offer different strategies. There are imo quite a few maps that could be good in 1v1 with just a few tweaks. I've listen some I believe have potential, but all of them could probably use a bit of work on resource distribution, ...

Well I'll do my best to explain the changes so that they hopefully make a bit more sense. General: The art and tower build limits were not nerfing something that was OP. They were nerfing a play style that people did not like playing against or know how to counter properly. With any civ (India has ...

Re: ESOC Patch 3.1.1. Update and Treaty Patch Integration

I don't like most of the treaty changes either. Why remove the limit on hc/rockets/bombards and make tower limit 7 again? Fine if you want port, france, dutch etc to have 7 towers, but there is most certainly no need to give ger and britt 7 towers again. Also what's the reasons for changing France? ...

Re: This is my (fair) flame to the NR60 nilla community

I've never seen "no tower" rule in TAD I have, but they are more like "no towers close to hm before treaty ends". Mainly seen on ori or in 1v1 since on small maps or in nr55 towers then can shoot past hm killing units on the enemy's side even before the fight is supposed to start.

Re: wall glitch... How to take down walls fast!

What Howling described has very little to do with deleting pillars. The "glitch" he describes is in effect no matter if there are pillars present or not, as long as the segments are in touch with each other. This glitch i think very few know about. That you should attack pillars in walls, ...

Your cas are mostly spread out in a fight due to theur low range. Just play as russia vs france and you will notice how long it actually takes for even 10 cas to kill a single gendarme. Russian musketeers doesn't exactly kill them fast either. So blocking with a few musk and your strelets and let C...

CA are fast and mobile so they can block too, and you can always spam 5-10 musk instantly to block as well. So shouldn't be that much of a problem.

How to win FFA: Less or equal to 6 players; Pick iro, rush your enemies. You won't encounter any opposition before you reach the 4/5 enemy. More or equal to 6; make a straight treaty 40 boom combined with wall spam, and hope no1 rushes you. Then you beat every remaning player with your superior trea...
