Re: Age of Empires THREE DEEEEEEE
These are awesome man. Nostalgia hitting hard Keep up your hard work Thank you, yeah I just can not let it go... a game for kings. Now I can make it character driven and implement strats and tactics that happen too quickly in computer games. and focus on one single battle. Your Explorer is in spot ...

Re: Age of Empires THREE DEEEEEEE
i like how the paint job and the photo quality kept improving over time Thank you, these aren't exactly posted in order I made them but pretty close. The first finished piece was the trade ship which I did the water differently then. It is pretty tricky to get browns to look like woods in 1/72 scal...

Assyrian siege machine
The Assyrians were expert siege engineers but for the right amount of wheat and wood this weapon can be leased out to any army.
Essentially a ram with an archer tower to protect it.

Re: Age of Empires THREE DEEEEEEE
This is an ancient Greek Bireme Its model is from IMAI and the minis are Atlantic toys from the 1960's This ship is also a entourage for a female VIP. These guys are pretty good at everything but not excellent in anything. Though it does have a forward hot/ flaming oil piston weapon at its bow to ta...

The Imperial Guard Bireme This one is meant to be like a elite imperial guard unit that will stay with the Giant Roman flagship to guard its flanks (more to come! but this one is far off from complete) its some of the battle hardened elite warriors that are boarding experts. It may not be the bigges...

Ibernium
This ship is inspired as a Ancient trade ship, perhaps Greek or Carthaginian. It can be used as a missile platform, or as part of a protected convoy. Or part of a trade economy for other adventures.
Entirely scratch built this one is from left over parts.

The Republican Roman Bireme
A quick and fearless crew, they move fast and have one main tactic they do the best... which is get along side a ship, use the corvis (bridge) to attach and fight on the decks. And they are good at what they do.

Side Quest.... Ancient Siege weapons....
well the first one I think is a Chinese inspired castle siege claw. the other is ancient Greek inspired and uses a board that slaps projectiles to throw them, a less efficient method. this model can throw 4 darts at once. Both of these are scratch built.

Re: Age of Empires THREE DEEEEEEE
The characters of the game.... The Ancient Greek Tower Bireme. It has a slower yet nimble and devastating ram attack due to its shorter length resulting in less rowers and heavy front armor to its beak ram, its job is to maneuver and use its momentum to power through any craft on a direct strike. It...

Hellow, I want to share with you all my dream and vision of a table top game experience using ancient armies in a battle of wits over land, resources, and logistics. Realized in the wonderful 1/72 scale using plastic models from various makers spanning several decades. It was inspired when I was 16-...

Re: AOE III DESIGNER & BOARD GAME
I never knew there were any board games, but I do wonder how it plays out since AOE is so complex My attentions have been to create my own game which was inspired when I was 16-18 and I didn't realize I would ever take it this far. Back then I imagined a table in a grid where players could have armi...

Oh I thought it was around much longer before I joined! But that makes sense as to why I heard about it when I did and joined after playing for 7 years. It has grown to quite a place.

Interesting or not.... all but one commenter on this post joined up in 2015!? what happened that year? Anything special to note? I also want to reflect on how through many years I am greatful to ESOC for basically keeping this game alive and thriving amongst the community. That was a special time wh...

Re: End of an era - ESO2 closing down
Wow what unexpected and sad news. I grew up playing all the age games and AOE 3 to me was and will always be special, and the perfection of RTS genre. It is a work of art and sad to see it not live on whilst the new game which is far different takes over. I designed a computer in 2008 just to get to...

Re: HowlingWolfPaw's Wall stratedgies for FFA (all modes apply)
Thank you~! Yes I agree, I think FFA is the most dynamic way to play the game and over the years have gone through phases of several different play styles and strategies. From times of no skill and playing hundreds of FFAs before really winning one for real. Then I found Spain, and I guess not many ...

Very excited to hear about this and I love the blind/ voting format! This should be really good. I wish I had more experience playing this version I might join in~! My background: +FFA+ clan "Leader" of over 200 members on TAD and thousands of FFAs played... I think its the best most dynam...

Re: what is the most pleasant feeling while playing AoE3
this feels pretty nice, When you grab 2 TPs on Lrg Sagunay in a 6player FFA and boom on the sea and suddenly people start noticing your score is 2-3x what they have and you know your in for a collaborated fight. but maybe the best feelings was when I started playing and lost almost every FFA game, b...

Re: Is 20 Range Goon Unit Fine?
it would be fine if they incorporated more balance changes. for instance... Increase goon range to 20, but that card then reduced the armor 10%. This does not effect its ability to counter cavalry in a worse matter, but allows the unit to be countered better by its counter, since 20 range also lets ...

u2214 Can you explain in detail why you listed the fact that it's cold half the year in Chicago? Because even if that did make it impossible to build structures (which it obviously doesn't) that still means they could just do it in the other half of the year. It means the ground ...

They want you to think this was built in under 3 years for 6 months of viewing in a place that is frigid cold half the year, in a time of horse and buggy transportation, no industrial tools, or even power tools. All those rivers water ways had to be dug by hand, slow growing mature cactus? There ar...
