Yeah rods used to have 13 atk x3 vs cav instea of 10 x3.5. I personally would like to see rods reverted to nilla as they were much more interesting there.

In general, I have won this matchup as Japan by either club rushing a agra push and cheesing out map control for a quick win, or walling and trying to push the game as long as possible and abuse how poorly India can counter yumi. It does not scale linearly. For example, if you want to build 3 manors with 3 villagers, its better to build all 3 at the same time with 1 vill on each one, and not 1 house at a time with all 3 vills.

It would be cool to test out nerfing 5 cossacks to 4, and then reducing russian vill cost to 255f just to see if it is balanced. I think the beta is a nice platform to try out suggestions that there has been a ton of debate over, but no one has ever actually tried out in game.

Is Japan really tier 2? It seems like they'd be kind of weak because there's twice as many units (meaning more units to attack shrines); plus you have to be careful shrining your side of the map, because it could be your team mate's hunts. That is true to a certain extent, but the map is also large...

The best civs in team are either civs that are incredibly versatile (brit/france), or have a few exploitable strengths.

Idk why people are voting out Andes and Silk Road, they're both some of the best maps in the set. Silk road does need a few more mines, sure, but beyond that it is really balanced.
