Buff spies?

They are a really cool unit, and I was wondering what people think of giving them a buff. The devs obviously intended for them to have a bigger role in the game, as evidenced by the fact that all the Euro civs have access to the Agents/Assassins upgrade card. I have heard that an Otto age 1 spy rush...

Re: Should lancers get a buff vs vills?

This is an interesting change but realistically wouldn't have an impact on many games. It seems like there are more fundamental reasons that Spain is weak, and those are ones that should/will be addressed.

Re: Top 5 best heavy cavalry civilizations.

I compared Yojimbo to Ashi because they fulfill the same purpose - countering cav. It doesn't make sense to compare them to Yabusame because Yabusame are designed to counter artillery, not cavalry (though their multiplier against cav is an added perk). Ashi are strong, available without a card, and ...

Re: Top 5 best heavy cavalry civilizations.

... Okay, seriously, I just dont get it. Am I the only one who likes to have the option to train a anti-cavalry unit that is fast enough to chase cavalry down or to run away if things get dim, and that, unlike the Yabusame, can actually hit decently hard? We already discussed this is another thread...

Get a decent EP leader in 2019. who exactly would you suggest? I think we have a good one right now. Wish you a happy one to rouga :P No, he's horrible. The best way imo is to get 5 top players who make the changes, and implement a change only if 4 of them agree with this change. Honestly if 80% of...

Re: whats the civ ranking on the official (non esoc) patch

I can't do the math because I don't have the exact numbers for villager training time and age up time, but iirc it takes roughly 10 minutes for Port to overcome other civs' villager count, and even longer to develop a meaningful lead. So yes, while the TC bonus is good; the lack of villager shipment...

Re: whats the civ ranking on the official (non esoc) patch

Sioux is a "broken" civ -- really good in one aspect (cavalry, particularly bow riders) but terrible in all others. The teepee change on EP was designed to remedy this by giving Sioux economic options. The Iroquois and Ottomans are widely considered to be the strongest/most OP civs on RE p...

No, I mean, they are-Cheaper-Then normal Musketeers, but... I was talking specifically in terms of population efficiency. And honestly, on this regard... Unless there was a part of your math that I missed, Iiiii dont remember Russian Musketeers occupiyng less population space then the ones of any o...

Re: Anyone knows any good AoE3 You Tubers?

I, by my own admission, have no experience whatsoever with treaty :p. It is weird, I always assumed that on treaty games population efficiency would be more important then cost efficiency, but hey, maybe I was dead wrong. If I am talking about supremacy games( The area where I have at least a s...

Re: AOE3 Conquest format

I like this idea. There probably wouldn't be much point in hiding the players' pools since everyone would know what they were after the first round (or would they reset every round?), but making players lock in before the civs are revealed would add a cool "mind game" component to the tour...

Re: Anyone knows any good AoE3 You Tubers?

There isn't really an equivalent to SOTL in the AoE3 community, mainly because AoE3 is not nearly as complex and nuanced as AoE2 (therefore, not as much material for videos). If you're looking for strategy tips, VeniVidiVici has some good videos (scroll to the bottom of the playlist) https://www.you...

Re: Suggestion: What if there was such a thing as team bonuses on this game?

I think team cards were the devs' attempt to carry over the team bonus idea from AoE2. Unfortunately it's a balancing nightmare, since some civs have way better cards than others. Dutch get team cheap market upgrades while Russia gets the infantry training card that lets everyone on your team insta-...

Factories

Do you think the game would be more balanced if factories could be rebuilt? What I'm thinking of is something similar to Russian musketeers' fort-building ability, where the max number of forts is set at a certain value (in the case of forts, 2) and increases by 1 each time you send a fort wagon car...

Id say iro becuse they have the best cannon and still some siege/support kindn) of artillery in age3. Since they are presented as an artillery civ they also have several cards for it. On the pther hand Japan has very cost efficient and practical artillery while China is also supposed to be proficie...
