Including cannons in your composition makes you immobile, and mobility (i.e. being able to kite) is very important when you're playing against China in my experience. Standing still and letting them z-move on your army is something you should generally avoid unless you have a huge numerical or compo .....

Re: What should the goal be in NR20?

There was a big surge in 3v3 NR20 Deccan games a few years ago and I remember them being a ton of fun. It's a horribly imbalanced game mode, with a handful of civs absolutely dominating the others. If you're just starting out, Ports are probably your best bet. They have an easy boom and Jinete/organ .....

Kill his TPs to slow down the shipment progression (if the initial push fails, he's going to rely on the 16 militia shipment so if you can stall it, he's dead). Once you've identified that it's a revolt, mass muskets and train a couple culverins to deal with the 2 bombard shipment. Hide all of it be .....

My guess is that because individual units are stronger and more valuable (thinking specifically of mercenaries, but it's true for regular units as well), they felt it would imbalance the game to include conversions.

If you're struggling to find games on the EP, I highly recommend you check out the ESOC Discord. There's a scheduling section in it, and you can probably find a game that way.

Moving it to age 4 is essentially the same and removing it because 99% of games never reach age 4.
