Re: Missusing cards: unit cards and not saving up cards
Its not really a few percent of the games though... Only the second one, which i noted that was mostly for team games. The crate rather than unit scenario, the one of sending units when you are just idling him up but cant really do damage and the one you will just camp with cannons for 3 mins withou...

Misusing cards: unit cards and not saving up cards
in general, one thing I noticed often happening even between the pr30+ guys is that people often times send "wrong cards" (as in not as effective as another card choice) based on two biased views: Unit cards mandatorily being the choice when attacking (and often also just sending it just f...

5394 1.I dont get what you mean :c. Yes the vills are going to gather the wood you had to spend extra. 2.Yeah, thats actually something i forgot to say. Even so, it also depends. For instance, if you were france and won the water against port. Now you have complete control of the water and no use t...

Could schoonerless boat be better than plantation transition?
Ive been wondering if boats would be a better transition than plantation due to the whooping cost of 800 wood each plantation has. Both whales and plantation villagers gather at a 0.5 gold per sec rate. However, villagers walk around when gathering on plantations instead of just being stilll constan...

It's actually crazy how good it is. Whoever doesnt should definitely check it out. It amplifies the x2 exp effect of the explorer to x3. It is hard to put in words how good that actually is because of the bad fame the exp aura effect has of not being very useful. It feels as effective as having thre...

Only in RE since spain just lack good fortress shipments. Just making skirms instead of shiping highlanders is better tho. More so if you are going with the 8 pike instead of 4 hussar.

Re: Tip of the day — light cavalry hand combat
Against skirms it's mostly useless, because skirms in melee mode also deal more damage to goons than skirms in ranged mode. So you deal more damage, but also get more damage. It's only useful when you want to snare the skirms, but this doesn't happen so often. melee combat against cassadors is defi...

Re: Ranged Anti Cav?
I don't think changing the composition of the banner army would be nice. Steppe keshik sure do look a lot attractive, and you wouldn't really need to buff the units if you were to change the standard army to that since they would actually become really nice to mass. The problem is that it really cha...

Idk i just felt like doing it :p Some might not know, but you can actually put your ranged cavalry into hand combat mode, letting you dragoons charge in with their swords and stuff just like normal hand cav. There are in fact some very nice uses for doing that, so dont forget to use it once you fini...

Re: Question about Otto [EP]
Imo its fine to make market in team games since you cant double arsenal abus nonstop anyway. The game might last longer, so it is worth the investment. If you are making abus, its better to invest on the mosque tho. Just make a mosque and upgrade when you send 700 wood if you are not making tp eco a...

Re: Why does nobody ship manlets?
they dont really make your army slower tho... Just dont put them on the same unit group. Supposing the manlets are a counter shipment for falcs, it shouldnt really matter since you can just leave them at the base and go harass if you are planning on using your mobility to your advantage. When you ar...

Re: Why does nobody ship manlets?
You are missing out in sending units that do real damage. So you are saying that sending 6/5 kanya is better? By this time you would have already sent the 8 prowlers, 5 musket riders and the 400 400 400 resource crates, so it wont really affect the skirm count in anyway. (The other crate shipment k...

They have 440 hp (with explorer bonus) and 50% rr, and you get 5 of them in one shipment. Just so you know how tanky this is, if the enemy has 49 veteran skirms and clicks on one of your manlets for instance, that manlet would still be alive. Despite that, nobody has them in their deck. Sure you can...

Re: india vs jap HALP!
You needed more hand cav. You didnt upgrade your sowars to veteran until much later on and made zambs when the jap didnt have any cav. Besides that, i guess you took some time before upgrading your trade route. Imo you would have won if you had had more hand cav. You had more army, but didnt have mu...

Re: Ottoman Discussion Thread
Well no because it only has to pay off 100w since you get the mosque anyway on a non-tp map. In a non tp map, i would rather not use the wood at all so that i can make the barracks and art foundry wihtout having to send 700 wood for a while. But maybe im wrong about that since i never played oto on...

Re: Ottoman Discussion Thread
Actually it is 5 secs faster. That being said you build the mosque anyway so it pays off in 7 mins. (i.e. 8 min mark of the game, which would make it worth it for most civs but not otto imo. I was going to say it was 6 on nilla, but it is actually 8... My life is a lie lol It takes more than 7 min ...

Re: Ottoman Discussion Thread
Mosque upgrade math: Note:Each mosque upgrade reduces the vill training time by 6 secs, and the original training time is 48 secs. The upgrade makes you train vills faster. This means that your vill can be gathering for those extra seconds gained. The first vill gets 6 extra secs, while the second g...

Re: Spain vs british
As spain I just go revolt if the cannon camping goes well. British cant make the dragoons to stop it since they dont really have the time to get to fortress. You get two more falcs for getting to industrial, so it isnt really difficult to defend if you properly wall lame If brit rushes fortress, you...

Yes, but they are too expensive even then. The way water boom strats work and the timmings dont really allow you to go galleons and let it feel like it was a good investment. If the player is attacking you on the water, having your ship idle making land units wont help, and if he is attacking with l...

Two caravels have more hp than a galleon, except that two caravels are 600 resources while 1 galleon is 800. No, they dont have way more hp.
Edit: lolmath idk how 400 + 400 = 600... Need to sleep ;-;

Eh, its probably never going to be an addition in the patch, but whatever :p As all of you know, galleons suck. They are overpriced for how weak they are. That said, i think that the dutch and spain would be able to compete agaisnt the brits and pt navies if galleons were good. Both have very good g...

The main problem with the uhlans is that they get really strong once you get a mass of them, and that germany gets a lot of army at once at a time the opponent can't get the same amount. While the uhlan is a strong unit, people usually complain about the two uhlan harassment in their first colo card...

I stated the thing agout sioux though? Veteran upgrade giving back their speed or so would make it at least not hopeless. Not that this is the main point though.
