Re: On EP – Past, Present and Future

At around this time, in accordance with the OP and with EP8.2 having settled somewhat, I was intent on getting to work on EP9, starting – as usual – by gathering feedback, not least through polling. Contrary to my expectations only recently, I will remain largely unavailable for the foreseeable futu...

On EP – Past, Present and Future

Recently, I’ve been articulating, editing, and expanding on some thoughts of mine that I wish to share with you all. They should help anyone with an interest in perspective and understanding, which I know is the vast majority of this community – the entirity of which I work hard to serve. Disregardi...

Re: Somppu apology thread

The best way to prevent this from happening is to set a "sentence" that is enough to discourage people from doing that. Obviously, banning people from EPL 3 is not enough, hazza didn't care, and Somppu expected the same thing to happen. It's easy to say what the best solution was after so...

Re: Political Compass

It's about values, not policy, though. Try to focus on your reaction instead of overanalyzing things. Your quote of choice's more significant flaw, to me, is that it's a very leading question, in juxtaposing the two alternatives; I imagine that most respondents were inclined to favor serving humanity.

Re: Somppu apology thread

At this point it's undeniable that Cuckoo's behavior is disrespectful. However, if he did indeed have a reasonably timely change of heart, wouldn't it be in ESOC's firm interest to commute his penalty to a warning? I just struggle to see how there are any non-moral benefits to this outcome. It's en...

Re: Somppu apology thread

I'm not extremely motivated to work it out with especially bramboy, disrespecting me for years and recently spreading misinformation, private conversations and not answering any follow up questions. Simply ignoring and talking about other topics. All he had to say was "Pathetic" It's not ...

https://www.politicalcompass.org/test I think that a few of the questions are unfortunately worded, but the result should be representative enough. Re: ESOC Patch 8.2.0.0 released

Adding to my comments in the OP – which I strongly recommend that anyone with an interest in the patch reads, let alone before forming an opinion on this release – I would like to note some things: 1. A number of notable players have expressed the probable urgency of several of these changes; most ...

Re: ESOC Patch 8.2.0.0 released

5 gardener for an age 3 shipment seems really strong. 5 huss is already one of the best millitary shipment you can have, so a 10% better one sounds quite good. Idk if that's desirable. Especially since they are auto upgraded. Has it been really though? agree with bwinner 5 consulate coss with the f...

Re: ESOC Patch 8.2.0.0 released

It’s pretty pathetic how ESOC get bullied into making a hot fix then people like kaiser start crying about war clubs being op after he loses 2 games then he’s pming zoi after the fucking games, this is just a joke I have never seen this kinda balancing in RTS games in my life who the hell does patc...

Re: ESOC Patch 8.2.0.0 released

I don't get why a patch like this is even implemented during a tournament? Who has access to the EP launcher update files? Who makes these calls without consulting anyone? Why does this just happen? Why create an ESOC thread for this? 1. Because it's a minor, low-risk update overwhelmingly featurin...

Re: ESOC Patch 8.2.0.0 released

Who cares if there's a small update mid tourney honestly lol. Like it's gonna fundamentally change the way players perform... If there was a communication problem among the staff that's another story, but players should really stop nitpicking as if suddenly the whole game has changed and the EPL is...

Re: ESOC Patch 8.2.0.0 released

By now, it is clear to me that the Colonial age "The Shaman" buff is a both fundamentally sound and popular change u have to be kidding, right? Not at all. Other than reading ESOC forums, I discussed the change – among many other issues – with over 20 top players, of whom a clear majority...

Re: Indians Discussion Thread

As a result of Cuckoo's oddly-timed and relentless propaganda, I am continuing to look into the state of Indians, post-EP8.1 , where the civilization has now seen the following significant changes, from EP7(.1): – The Rajput gets +30% attack from "Dravidian Martial Arts" instead of +15%. –...

Re: Indians Discussion Thread

I was thinking about just giving them the same cost as their normal counterpart. I don't think it would become problematic. I think that this change (provided that it isn't also reducing population cost) were the best solution, if buffing all Mansabdars is desirable, since it doesn't incentivize tr...

Re: Indians Discussion Thread

Just double mansabdar damage, just like their HP is doubled. They will all become viable then. It's an elegant fix that requires no tinkering with the aura they give. Based on conversations with – and observations of – good players, it seems that non-elephant Mansabdars are sufficiently viable, alr...
