Re: Official AoE3: Definitive Edition Thread

Cross play for aoe3 at least doesn't really make sense, no? To play together with a DE version and regular TAD they'd need to push a new TAD patch out which seems incredibly unlikely.

Re: Dear white people

I live in an area with nearly 0 black people but pretty much every other significant Asian/Middle Eastern minority is represented here. It seems like the discussion about racism here is so different; it's mostly about how old Chinese ladies are incredibly racist to literally everyone, especially peo...

Re: British 3 attacks BO within 14 minus industrial age time

1st Musket timing: sure, w/e. Have fun losing to 8bow if they do even minimal scouting. 2nd "timing" after fortress: there are infinite examples of musk/falc losing hard to goon/skirm or Cav/skirm comps. Musks are just not good at defending falcs by themselves. You need overwhelming number...

Re: What do you consider to be traits of a "successful" person?

Someone that finds success. That's literally it. Some people are driven, some have an inspiriation, and some are just lucky. There is no characteristic. Also depends on how you define success. What if success is just being happy? And what is being "happy?" The question doesn't really make...

Re: God 2.0: The free market

We need a carbon tax so the markets can effectively deal with climate change A carbon tax only works if there are good alternatives available. We have a carbon tax where I live in Canada, and all it's really done is force companies to add $50 to my utility bill every month, without really making an...

Re: God 2.0: The free market

Many people seem to think that a free market is simply a supply/demand system without any external factors/gov't rules/regulations etc. This is not true. If you actually read into the historical concept of a free market it is always with certain rules/stipulations that allow the market to function. ...

Hackapells aren't bad persay, they just have a small niche in vill raiding. Unfortunately without high hp they just can't do hand cav's job, which is to tank, so they're pretty useless in fights.

Re: AoE3 makes me really upset

I doubt it. We're being too hopeful for the DE. From what aoe1:de was we'll just get some higher-res assets and like 1-2 bug fixes. Not to mention being a Windows store exclusive will seriously cut into the numbers.

Re: Where to eat cheap

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that it's strange to eat a trained companion animal, right? Some level of betrayal of trust that I'm uncomfortable with, and I've raised pigs for slaughter before.
