Re: Aztec Needs a Change

Siege troop removal was also a FP change. In exchange a -10 siege attack nerf was applied and the unit cost was changed to 45f 45g. I'm fine with both siege and no siege tag. Pumas are indeed sort of petards so the tag just makes sense. It's hard to counter Aztec rush without a bonus vs puma. Then a .....

Re: Poll: Crate gathering in batches

Well, I'm refering to the thread he linked which I stopped reading after I went to the LAN. At that point it was still not tested in multiplayer environment so definetely no reliable conclusion can be drawn.

I dont think the gathering bug is confirmed yet. As far as I am aware they werent even able to reproduce it in a multiplayer environment.

Re: Announcing the $100 ESOC Tri-Civ Cup!

Well I dont think you will know the opponent's civ before the match day anyway. So you are going to prepare against the civ in abstract, which is what you equally do with free pick.

Therefore we miss.

Re: Improving Apm and Micro

Macro is indeed important but for how this game works, usually the amount of resource worth of units killed/lost in battle tends to prevail, at least in the mid term. Sometimes battles are simply game deciding so it's not even about how many extra resources you squeeze out of it.

Re: Indian Discussion Thread

I agree that the problem isnt even cease fire itself but aggro cease fire with urumi.
Urumi in fact are a problem, period. Unit is simply not countered hard enough by cav and other RI units suck vs urumi.
Then again Jap and China can reasonably deal with urumi so once again is just the case that TAD .....

Re: India vs Otto - how to deal with Abus gun?

Try karni mata 600w 600g 700f. Make a TP in transition e use 600w for 2nd rax. Then spam sepoy+gurka. If you macro well you should be able to barely keep up with otto mass.
Other alternatives are naked ff with agra+taj mahal e howdah spam.
Also just aggro start with in base agra.

Re: Indian Discussion Thread

Prolonging cease fire doesnt work because it then buys too much time. Shortening even more is a possible nerf but we are at a point where the ability becomes useless.
I think the most reasonable nerf would be the one Mitoe proposed, even tho it opens up other weird dynamics (you can basically freeze .....

Re: Aztec Discussion Thread

Coyote have 10%rr because otherwise they are too hard to pick off with z move and too easy to be overkilled with manual micro. The same applies to ruyters.
I'd rather buff base HP just to make them slightly stronger vs cav as they cant even escape if caught before the combat card. However the unit is .....

Re: In-Game Sound Tip! (for all streamers!)

Have to restart the game to fix sound bug, so realistically a restart every game to be 100% sure. Vsync is really bad, it even has gameplay implications such as delayed trade route travois and slower projectile fire.

Re: Japanese Discussion Thread

Japan is the classic civ that you need to master to see how good it is.
In general having rules that force players to change civ puts a big limit to how explanatory of balance tourney games can be.
Didnt Mitoe win the monociv cup with Japan?

Re: Japanese Discussion Thread

Man Japan can already easily be a top civ. It's just a more omplex civ that you need to master but it has everything already.
Any early game boost would essentially the only weakness that prevent them to be the best civ hands down.

It totally would with an extra base crate instead of the extra 100w one.
Side note, in case someone didnt notice China is pretty good civ atm.

Food and gold spawns are just as fine for Japan as they are for the other civs. Especially now that specific builds are finally assuming shape.

Nilla Spain is the only sensate way to make the civ actually competitive.
So basically rod and xp buff. Civ is already viable, just you dont expect the civ to be the favorite in many MUs.
