It's an hopeless discussion. When someone discards the evidence and keeps arguing it is just because he is either A) too unexperienced at the game to have a proper idea of what works and what doesn't or B) too emotionally involved in the discussion so whatever evidence doesn't even matter. The card is not viable even in combination with the team one, at a high level of play. The reason is that the bonus provided is too little to justify the cost of 2 cards which realistically are worth 1k each when they could be sent.

Well if you really want a measure of one unit strenght based on its real cost it should be: unit cost /100 + unit pop /10.

You usually just use the average. No rating system can solve the problem of people not playing, of course, but Glicko has the advantage in that you can arrive at your "true" rating in less games. Doesn't the PR system native to ESO do both of those things (address inactivity and lets play...

Ye it's related to the FPS and also alt-tabbing. Recorded games on fast mode also increases the chances of it happening.

From what I undestand glicko doesn't solve the problem of inactivity. All it does is claim to provide a more accurate ranking just because it considers a range of values rather than a precise number. How do you use one player's rating range then? What value do you pick for seeding? Top of its range?...

QS only would be ideal but that's in general for EP. For this specific tourney seed all you want is to fix a baseline of activity like 20 games or so played in the last month before the qualifiers.

I don't think ranks are stale at all. You can go up and down easily because the EP ladder is relatively new. Only reason why it may be stale is because players just don't play, for which no ranking system provides a solution. At the end, current EP rankings are fairly accurate so I don't see the iss...

4v 700g is viable especially in French mirror. And no 4v 700w is not better with a TP start. 4v 700g 700w is not even a counter. It is just that in villager seconds 700w = 8 skirm, 5 goons or w/e age3 card (maybe not falcs but no point in sending falcs first). 4v 700g is not a build. With TP it is always 3 cards so, even in the worst case we are talking of something like 4v 700g 5 goons vs 4v 700w 700g. And since 5 goons give you tempo because you have a counter unit then you can send 1k wood, even tho you can probably bust opponent late age up by going 5...
