Re: Aztec vs everyone
For standard units the wood one is better (worth more), for the outlaw rush the standard is coin but you can go wood and build the tower in transition with cattles. Btw your age1 shipment is 4cows which replace the starting cows you eat at the 9th vill popping for no idle time.

Re: Aztec vs everyone
I used to like to warrior priest boom as more of a way to spice up the civ after rushing ten times in a row. I really liked how Aztecs could have 15-20 pop forward base usually well before 6 min. What other civs can pull off a rush on par with old Aztec rush? I do like Iro, but I prefer Aztec age 2...

Re: gatling builds
the coffee mill guns is the best way to make them viable? will definitely try that, but I was lookin more for a build that is reminiscent of spain falc push with 8 pike in transition and age up units, can USA achieve a similar timing? just 1010 FF. Use the 700f State option. 700c, capitol card, 700...

Re: gatling builds
Since coffe mill card was moved to age4 you basically have to FI. It's still kinda OP so it is probably worth (but USA definetely have better options). I used to just do the old church FF into age4 with 1k coin first. Build was capitalism, church card, capitol wagon, 700w, 1k coin, etc. Now you may ...

Re: Aztec vs everyone
The 35 wood 40 mace hurts the most in practice, but having no cover mode coyote to tank first volley, tc shots, or retreating, 8/9 mace vs 9/10 mace and weakened stats on puma (which also impacts the 6 puma shipment) compared to TAD also shows up. 150 res to 300 res for warchief xp button, and age ...

u6 How is your pro career going? Have you moved? Went down from playing mostly 200nl and 500nl back to 100nl and 200nl because it is more manageable (especially more traffic makes all the difference). I did not move outside of Italy. Realistically I'm not going to if things stay ...

So overall it looks like: - easy fold pre - if you can't fold pre, at least go call-call instead of jamming - if you can't fold pre or go call-call, at least jam the flop instead of the turn Ye pretty much. Option 3 might be preferable than option 2 if you are not sure his range is actually that ti...

I was in similar situations (raising with a flush draw) on at least three separate occasions this past weekend: Spot 1: I have AQss and open $15, player two seats to my left calls IP. Flop 97x two spades (x was like a 3 or something, a low card with no realistic straight potential). I cbet some amo...

Line check - I'm pretty confident the line I took is very bad, and I want to make sure. Context: $1/2/2 live game. My local casino has a weird structure. Most SF Bay Area casinos do actually, I'm not sure why. Here the button pays the $1 but otherwise has the normal button position. The opening act...

Re: 🏆 $1,000 ESOC SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 🏆
Perhaps mods can move the posts in a new specific thread as this one is turning exactly into a strategic discussion it wasn't meant to be. Baja is very much beatable and people are overreacting like always. Do people even realize that the 2 ROF is actually a nerf since renegado type units used to ha...

So there's not one single strat from 22 civs that can beat this or put you in a decent position to win? Or you can't just mirror and win if you're actually the better player? Not the right thread to discuss it, but I'm fairly sure most if not all civs can beat it and, once figured out the specific ...

Re: Essay On Optimal Villager Distribution per Animal
Hmm, I'm admittedly bad at math but I ran some calculation yesterday after my last post. I was considering the decay rate as an extra villager. So by my math, a deer with 3v takes 400/(2.52+0.75) = 122.32 seconds to expire. During that, a total of 91.74f is lost. So if I'm not mistaken, it is slight...

Re: Essay On Optimal Villager Distribution per Animal
Anything less than 4vills on a single animal feels a huge waste of food. Anything more than 7 feels too many and will probably means the whole hunt will be shoot too much and start moving away (plus more walking time but I guess that evens out in the long term?!). ChatGPT suggestions seem off by 1 ...

Re: DLC Cancelled
The thing about DE and a fan patch that I'm going to reiterate is that DE was not left unpatched. Most patches, especially toward the end were good for balance. It's just the game that is a complete mess. It's a fun game, not a strictly competitive one. I don't see much point in making a fan patch f...

Re: DLC Cancelled
What would be the point of a fan patch tho? The game is just too full of fun mechanics that don't suit competitive play. Aside from a series of awful patches back when the game was less complex, the tweaking of stats and stuff has always been reasonable, like no exceptional but in line with what the...

Re: MU of the Week: Dutch vs Ports
I'm not sure Dutch gets more units in early fortress. Port semi is pretty much the same as Fre one, and if Dutch go for like more cav and 8pikes you usually make a 2nd batch of huss and hold with mm. Then in age3 you can send a unit shipment or 1k wood.

Re: MU of the Week: Dutch vs Ports
When it comes to standard play like semi FF war (Port FF is too passive imo and it plays in Dutch hands) I always liked being on Port side since they win in the long run and it's hard for Dutch to prevent the game going late stage. In this context I think it's important to clarify a misconception: P...

Re: New MU of the Week: France vs. Haud/Iro
Ye I mean the problem is that even with a sub 7 min FF you will have something like 10fp and 5mr when the 2 falcs knock on the door. Basically you rely on a good pop to take them off which idk if it works vs a French player who know exactly how the MU works, plus on DE iro units are nerfed so they d...

Re: New MU of the Week: France vs. Haud/Iro
Surely this switched heavily in favor of France because of Iro nerfs and Fre buffs. Especially 12/10 and the nat embassy card make it a lot easier to defend vs rushes. Other than that musk semi and 2 falcs is still sort of a problem for iro who basicaly have to either commit to age2 or FF without un...

Re: Hausa Ankobia semi FI
Thank you for the build but I'm wandering, is it not better to save the songhai age option for the age 3 ? With that you gain 700 gold and so you can age 4 without sending (and waiting) the 1000 gold shipment. Did you try this ? For the age 2 you can take the hausa option, that give you 300 wood + ...
