Re: DLC Cancelled
The thing about DE and a fan patch that I'm going to reiterate is that DE was not left unpatched. Most patches, especially toward the end were good for balance. It's just the game that is a complete mess. It's a fun game, not a strictly competitive one. I don't see much point in making a fan patch f...

Re: DLC Cancelled
What would be the point of a fan patch tho? The game is just too full of fun mechanics that don't suit competitive play. Aside from a series of awful patches back when the game was less complex, the tweaking of stats and stuff has always been reasonable, like no exceptional but in line with what the...

Re: MU of the Week: Dutch vs Ports
I'm not sure Dutch gets more units in early fortress. Port semi is pretty much the same as Fre one, and if Dutch go for like more cav and 8pikes you usually make a 2nd batch of huss and hold with mm. Then in age3 you can send a unit shipment or 1k wood.

Re: MU of the Week: Dutch vs Ports
When it comes to standard play like semi FF war (Port FF is too passive imo and it plays in Dutch hands) I always liked being on Port side since they win in the long run and it's hard for Dutch to prevent the game going late stage. In this context I think it's important to clarify a misconception: P...

Re: New MU of the Week: France vs. Haud/Iro
Ye I mean the problem is that even with a sub 7 min FF you will have something like 10fp and 5mr when the 2 falcs knock on the door. Basically you rely on a good pop to take them off which idk if it works vs a French player who know exactly how the MU works, plus on DE iro units are nerfed so they d...

Re: New MU of the Week: France vs. Haud/Iro
Surely this switched heavily in favor of France because of Iro nerfs and Fre buffs. Especially 12/10 and the nat embassy card make it a lot easier to defend vs rushes. Other than that musk semi and 2 falcs is still sort of a problem for iro who basicaly have to either commit to age2 or FF without un...

Re: Hausa Ankobia semi FI
Thank you for the build but I'm wandering, is it not better to save the songhai age option for the age 3 ? With that you gain 700 gold and so you can age 4 without sending (and waiting) the 1000 gold shipment. Did you try this ? For the age 2 you can take the hausa option, that give you 300 wood + ...

Re: Hardest Otto counters
Lakota are traditionally a counter to Otto because of BR and also RR (+other good cards) with a very fast FF. I doubt any of that is particularly relevant in current DE meta. By the way I don't think abus CA is that strong considering Otto other options and often just plays in the hand of other civ....

Re: 🏆 $500 ESOC WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 🏆
Age2 only is definetely refreshing in a very age/tech oriented meta. There are probably some civ balance concerns but also tons of civs to pick with decent to very good age2. The issue with unknown is the gimmicky extra building/res or w/e you get at the start. On one hand it can mix things up and g...

Re: Sweden Jaeger semi FF
With Jäger being available by default they do in fact have a skirm, just not in the standard way. Going for the church tech will still be the best option on most maps since 80 :wood: 80 :coin: eats through mines way slower than 200 :coin: This build is completely outdated anyway. Check the correct ...

Hausa Ankobia semi FI
Hausa Ankobia semi FI This strategy aims to reach the industrial age quickly in order to benefit from all the shadow tech units that Hausa easily get (mostly Akan Ankobia and falconets, but also mercenaries). It is probably a well known strategy but I'm going to write down what should be the optima...

Re: Poker
Hmm ye flop isn't great, he should have a range and nut advantage even if he doesn't defend all the pocket pairs in full frequency (and it's possible field overdefend those). Atleast there is no immediate straight possible. It's not a board you want to cbet range for small. In fact you want to check...

Re: Poker
I want to emphasise how extreme the redline/blue line thing is for me. I have a small sample, but I think you see this both where I am slightly winning on 888 and losing on gg: You can see on both that where I appear to be winning is when I have learnt to make more folds in bigger pots and give up ...
