Actually an awful lot of the eurovision votes are political and have been for quite some time. For those confused by the countries involved, those invited (for the most part, iirc) are ones that receive the Eurovision channel, which includes Israel, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia.

According to a thread on reddit, it's been 12 years since a country got 0 points, and Austria is the first country to host it and get 0 points the same year.

Why would the burden of proof be on me for something that is intuitively wrong? Youve completely missed my point, and thats why Ive deleted everything except your first sentence. If burning a cat was intuitively wrong, than you are absolutely correct. However thats what I was trying to drive at in ...

The "Is there a god?" thread
Isn't belief in God a matter of faith, rather than evidence? There are reasons to believe in God that are not based on empirical data. Also, here's an interesting article about the "leap of faith" for atheists. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2014/10/a...

You have every right to tell me what to do. And I have every right not to listen. Anyway that's not the point I was trying to make. I was trying to figure why the original person talking about cats thought that torturing cats was wrong and who or what lay down that law. Unfortunately he has yet to ...

Religion need not be violent and awful but people are stupid and dicks. Morality need not come from religion, however I do think morals are a real thing. Is there some great moral principle we use that can solve every moral case? No, but I don't think the burden of proof is on me to explain why ligh...

Nothing beats Water 7. Also, Punk Hazard sucked, partly because of Trafalgar Law and his very poorly defined power.

One Piece is consistently good. Not the best anime, but hasn't lost its touch. As for reindeers with hats, part of One Piece's whole atmosphere is being over-the-top and ridiculous. For those who don't watch anime and want to try it out/see a good one, you might find Attack on Titan rather accessible.

First off, "pure philosophy" doesn't really mean anything. Every kind of philosophy is a kind. Second, there was some equivocation on the idea of "wanting to do something" and "not doing that thing." In one sense, you can want to do something, and yet choose a greater want over that. This could be a...
