Re: Israeli-Palestinian conflict
Not sure what Israel is doing tbh, they have one major ally and with every dead civilian the facade of that civilian shielding a hamas agent grows thinner and thinner, as does their rope with the US. Feels like unconditional support is becoming unpopular even among conservatives.

When I was doing some fixed income research I didn’t find the published works to be that difficult to read. Small sample size from a very small area though

The biggest problem with academic writing is the vast majority of it is written by people who are very knowledgeable and talented in the field they are writing about, but are not in fact talented writers.

Re: US Politics Megathread
The 2nd is that the republicans attempted to reject the results of said election in favor of keeping Trump. I also don't view this as a genuine threat to democracy, there are too many safe guards in place. Have you heard of recent events when SCOTUS gave Trump immunity for a very planned and coordi...

Re: US Politics Megathread
It's interesting because I would say there are two "mainstream" recent lines of thought that are common in those worried about the "end of democracy". 1st being that several perceived irregularities in the 2020 election were actually democrats stealing the election. I have not se...

Re: US Politics Megathread
Intentionally writing your posts so that I, a college educated native English speaker, have to read them multiple times and sometimes open up the dictionary to understand what’s being said, as well as relying on shock value, is actually the opposite of a being a good way to try to get your point acr...

Re: US Politics Megathread
I do think the Trump/Vance ticket is doing a fairly good job at turning away women voters. Even conservative women should be having a hard time getting past the smell of voting Trump. Not sure why they’ve committed to the go as far right as possible instead of trying to attract centrists. We’ll see...

- For some reason I get advertisements for women's clothes. They don't even know that I'm male apperantly.. Interestingly enough, I've recently been getting ads for 1) Some sort of beast cancer meditation/ preventative medication 2) Female hygenie products 3) Pregnancy tests 4) HPV vaccine. Not sur...

Re: US Politics Megathread
I dont think many people center and left of center (outside of far leftists, who will always find something to cry about no matter what happens), are upset with Kamala. It was becoming increasingly clear that Biden is barely fit for office today, let alone 1, 2, 3, or 4 years from now. Having someon...

Re: US Politics Megathread
He is right that the vice president basically “does” nothing. Really the biggest thing they do is get people to vote for the ticket, which is why we’ve seen an emphasis on VPs being some sort of different demographic from the president recently.

Re: US Politics Megathread
Calling someone a “DEI hire” is not an effective tactic and the intelligent republicans know that, particularly since that phrase won’t be levied at whatever white male Kamala picks for her running mate. It’s the type of phrase unserious people use. https://apnews.com/article/trump-harris-attacks-jo...

Re: Stream Cheating Accusation
Who cares, several streamers in the community are well known to accuse people of stream sniping when the smallest coincidence happens. The people who believe that type of thing are not the same people who read these forums anyway, and people who believe that someone is cheating based on one or two &...
