I think instead of non-standard maps, we could try something like unknown maps, where you don't know the nature of map but where the distribution of resources are roughly balanced.

They also tend to have funky features, such as massive resource piles in the middle or unpassable terrains. Like these c .....

China skirm age up + 10 skirms + cav + double-sided armour & repelling volley( if you are greedy) should take care of just about anything dutch can do

@chris1089 I can definitely see how it makes scouting very easy. I was trying more to allow for hiding intentions and plans rather than scouting. It also partly comes out of thinking about the effects that #1 would have on the current decking showing system. .....

Irrelavent because you dont need to do it or because it doesnt provide any information?

I can see that it will reduce the ability to tactically suprise your opponent since they know what units have been arrived and so you have little time to pounce before they respond.

I am hoping that this is offset .....

The idea for 2 is that the card will only show when the shipment arrives rather than sent, so I think it wouldnt make scouting too easy, in essence you can only react after it has been carried out.

Idea on redesigning the Deck system

I think that the deck system in AOE3 have flaws in how it locks in a player's stratergy and responses pretty early on in the game and also broadcast that strat to the opposing player. So I thought about 2 ways to help adress this, one is argualby pretty hard to implement and probably more of a suges .....

Btw i wanted to ask but how does area damage work with multipliers?

Like if an iron flail for example attack a group of units which have skirms, heavy infantry and cav within it.

how does the area damage for each of those units determined?

The vils that spawn from the Chinese northern refugees card are actually called "migrants" in the spawn clock and for some reason cost 200 food.

In order to do this send the card at max vil pop

I remember in the Napolean era mod, Chinese army shipments would unlock the army at the barracks/war academy. This might be the way to go for the new chinese armies, make it more of a build order choice and not a thing from the start.

There is already a kelisk and steepe rider army, the Beiyang army .....
