Re: Behavioral Economics and AoE3

btw ur loss aversion analogy doesn't explain the risk/reward mechanism at play in making people check their cell phones as often as possible so i dunno if it can be applied to game theory.

Re: Behavioral Economics and AoE3

We are hardwired to seek out randomised rewards which answers your question about aoe or any game being ''enjoyable just like gambling''.
Aoe3 is NOT enjoyable however and rly bad for your body/health.

Re: Who is Dutch? About nationality and heritage

Still I see japan as such an ethnocentric and xenophobic nation I don’t think they would welcome a ton of immigrants. I always use Japan as an example to convince my students to become more pro-immigration. So that 's why I'd say that using Japan to support anti-immigration policies could perhaps b...

Re: Who is Dutch? About nationality and heritage

I think Amsel is struggling to keep his inner legend in control.

@umeu I meant young as in the kingdom is still too young to have established firm genetic roots. Many typical Dutch faces could appear to be either Scandinavian or French.

Re: Who is Dutch? About nationality and heritage

We're too young to talk about heritage and culture.
Best you could describe the Dutch is that we're the tiny cultural waste drain of Europe.
Everything we own and what we are has been stolen one way or the other.

Re: The

I still think there is a high possibility of anything existing outside the good ol' Space-Time Continuum http://news.mit.edu/2015/book-brad-skow-does-time-pass-0128 and that therefore you could make the argument for that 'anything' to be called 'a Higher Being' who/which would then be all-knowing. P...

Re: The

[ You know, you could maybe use a little bit of awareness of what your capabilities are. Touche, sir. Perhaps I myself am a victim of the Duning-Kruger effect. But tell me where I go wrong? AFAIK Einstein theorised time passes differently and as such you might view one now and I in a spaceship anot...

Re: The

It's hard to fathom fully but there must be a point where all time exists in 1 single moment which would mean your future is destined or even that there would be room for a being existing outside time, maybe even giving advice. 7056 In any case, just thinking about Einstein realising time is past-pr...

Re: The

what I really get excited about is the idea that time can be manipulated and that there must be a dimension in which all time is 0 and therefore the future is equal to the past.

Re: The

@chris1089 's idea of anything existing outside space-time is actually highly scientific, Einstein theorised about this as well. Basically, the existence of infinite dimensions as proposed by new science means time can be influenced as well.

Re: The

The existence of life is highly unscientific and illogical. This is my conviction based on scientific data. It is a classic 'black swan theorem'. We were taught to believe it without any explanation other than it was how it happened. And anything questioning it is dismissed to maintain the historic ...

To be more precise building 1 complex protein string out of molecules and then ordering a number of them to create RNA. I believe it's around 200+ of them in a specific order then a number of RNA strings to create living DNA. And the assumption is made it must be sequenced all at once in an oxygen-f...

Re: The

The fact we are here and have not heavily mutated according to Darwinian theory is merely more proof. Don't you know that is part of this scientific conundrum, the fact we are here and so similar to other life. Also the fact you're accepting these enormous odds as chance makes the argument only stro...

But that's the thing: It's a string of successive coincidences eventually tallying up to a ridiculous high improbability when moving from individual proteines to RNA and then DNA in an oxygen-free environment.

In any case, no use rly to repeat talking points you haven't read anyhow or ever will..
