Re: Unpopular opinion, should the Ottomans be a European or Asian civilization?
It is not entirely impossible that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism somehow came from Asia specifically Indian subcontinent. After all there is a lot of overlap and these are the things people used to to do for thousands of years before these religions came. Of course it is not possible to demonstr...

Re: Unpopular opinion, should the Ottomans be a European or Asian civilization?
Turkey/Ottomans are kinda their own thing, meaning their civilisation doesn't get fully explained by their current geography. They rightfully reject the idea that they're a Middle Eastern country and culture. They're a regional outlier, meaning you don't understand much about Turkey if you study th...

Re: Unpopular opinion, should the Ottomans be a European or Asian civilization?
Nobody is denying that Turkey and the Otto empire imported Euro influences into their culture or that they influenced other neighbouring Euro cultures. But the gist of the argument is that overall their Asian character trumps whatever Euro influences they had. It's like saying Turkey/Otto is Euro b...

Re: Unpopular opinion, should the Ottomans be a European or Asian civilization?
I think that's an oversimplification. Sure, lots of things in human populations can't be defined in terms of either/or. Scientists use gradients or clines. But that doesn't mean that Pashtun culture is European, just because one culture blends into another at the fringes. There are differentiations...

Re: Unpopular opinion, should the Ottomans be a European or Asian civilization?
Ottomans are definitely closer from Europe than from Eastern Asia historically, culturaly and politically. In what way? The Ottoman empire was definitely motivated by Islamic expansion. The Ottoman sultans claimed they established the Caliphate, which means they claimed they were the official Islam...

Re: Mitoe vs Samwise12
Apart from over hyped heavy names on paper, the group isn't group of death tbh ngl. Yeah it only has like 3 of the top 4 players atm Turk has been a remnant of his past glory, Sam never reached his previous PR 50 level. When was the last time he won a major tournament? Mitoe is hit and miss and how...

Hey guys (especially u5330 and u12985), apologies for the lack of detail. Aren't Forgotten Empires basically an AOE2 fan project that everyone loved and then MS turned them into a real studio tasked with developing DE? My sense from their website (they mention having been part of the competitive AOE2 scene) is that they are AOE2 fans who are working on AOE3 because thats ...

if we do that though, then u can bait cannons really easily, the have slow animations as well so u can just send out single units and waste enemy cannon shots that are targeting important buildings You can just task your cannons to a particular building. It requires a lot more micro to keep doing t...

Re: Update 13088
I think the Sweden changes are definitely an overreaction. A nerf to Engelsburg Ironworks and the starting crates change plus the addition of 3 huss (and removal of 8 pike) would have been just fine. There was no need to nerf Caroleans, or nerf Blueberries to make the card utterly useless.

I don't think the argument saying that EP was so much better holds any water. EP is a small community project by comparison with a few hundred users at best. Anyone cheating in a tournament would likely be found out so there is very little incentive for an attacker to try to subvert EP. It's easy f...
