Re: A follow-up poll on ESOC off topic controversial content
>A poster states "Asians are the smartest race". Should this be moderated? No. If they have evidence to prove it, why should they be moderated? And even if they don't, it might be just an unfounded opinion. >A poster expresses conservative ideology. Should this be moderated? I don't see w...

Re: A poll on ESOC off topic controversial content
I think nobody doubts that. But then, why would they find "comfort and friendlier environment" only among their kind? Seems a bit primitive. Especially if everyone speaks the same language, so there's no major barrier between people understanding each other.

Re: A poll on ESOC off topic controversial content
It seems like people naturally segregate each other in the USA. At least on a rate above average, there are also cases where this phenomenon happens less. https://www.livescience.com/20663-black-white-segregated-neighborhoods.html So it's not just a question of someone segregating them through exter...

Re: A poll on ESOC off topic controversial content
That could be the case for the first generation of migrants. But the USA is a very socially mobile country, people keep moving for jobs inside the same city, as well as inside states and the whole country. So for those who are no longer first generation migrants and who became culturally American, s...

Let's pick a random case that is not very strongly patterned. This is Denver: https://i.imgur.com/X8Fxlmq.jpgg This is Johannesburg from South Africa, that was once an apartheid state: https://i.imgur.com/mKkNJVP.jpg Seems like South Africa, that was once an apartheid state, managed to integrate mul...

u2291 Before lecturing others on what they should think or say, why don't you take a long hard look at the racial maps in your country: https://demographics.virginia.edu/DotMap/ There's a button there "Add Map Labels" to toggle city names. You can zoom in and watch the a...

Lol @ actually thinking that anything related to transgenderism will bring or lose votes. It's just not an issue for like 99.95% of the population.

u11413 Maybe if I give you a simple example, you will understand why your analogy doesn't stand on its feet. If you called me something that is undeniably true, using a negative term, like: "you're a low-level AOE3 player, you're not even a colonel, you lowbob noob". The...

Because it's a thinly veiled accusation that you make behind the claim that it's your impression. So that you could still benefit from throwing dirt on someone, without any obligation to prove it. It's not the nicest thing to do. But you told me that people shouldn't be offended so easily and you w...

So you're making very pointed and precise accusations that you cannot substantiate with evidence. Reminds me of a time someone claimed that trans people were constantly editing his posts on wikipedia and when asked to substantiate that claim provided 0 evidence, claimed that asking for evidence was...

So you're making very pointed and precise accusations that you cannot substantiate with evidence. I'm not making an accusation though Well, you said I err on the side of racism. What does this even mean? Because I know what I think on the subject and this doesn't match anything I wrote or thought a...

Re: A poll on ESOC off topic controversial content
As far Dolan, I think sometimes he errs on the side of actual racism (or sexism, or similar unbased prejudices/beliefs that certain groups of people are intrinsically superior). Can you back up your statements with evidence? Because there are lots of accusations being thrown around here, but the wh...

That's pretty much also what I proposed for some time. Make profits trickle down inside the firm, rather than through taxes or services. And refocus the economy on productive ends, rather than paper-pushing and "capital". But then, what do we do next if fully automated agriculture becomes ...

Welp, stifling speech won't change their minds either. Those words only hold power as long as they are forbidden, imo. Might as well let them express it and consume it.deleted_user wrote:Hate *clap* Speech *clap* Normalizes *clap* Hate *clap*

Re: GUA Twitch
Why would you consciously not avoid offending anyone? Seems to me literal definition of an asshole. Where does this end, really? Do we need to make like a catalogue of every conceivable word or phrase that someone might find offensive or they could claim to be offensive, so that we avoid significan...
