You shouldn't take a fringe case like Garja as representative of the entire community.

Re: What should the goal be in NR20?

There was a big surge in 3v3 NR20 Deccan games a few years ago and I remember them being a ton of fun. It's a horribly imbalanced game mode, with a handful of civs absolutely dominating the others. If you're just starting out, Ports are probably your best bet. They have an easy boom and Jinete/organ .....

Re: How to deal with revolt lol?

Kill his TPs to slow down the shipment progression (if the initial push fails, he's going to rely on the 16 militia shipment so if you can stall it, he's dead). Once you've identified that it's a revolt, mass muskets and train a couple culverins to deal with the 2 bombard shipment. Hide all of it be .....

My guess is that because individual units are stronger and more valuable (thinking specifically of mercenaries, but it's true for regular units as well), they felt it would imbalance the game to include conversions.

If you're struggling to find games on the EP, I highly recommend you check out the ESOC Discord. There's a scheduling section in it, and you can probably find a game that way.

Moving it to age 4 is essentially the same and removing it because 99% of games never reach age 4.

Re: Is Aoe3 too one dimensional?

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but one of the biggest differences between AoE3 and other games in the series is how important natural resources are. Because there's so much food on the map and mills are so expensive and bad by comparison, long term defensive play is not viable the way it .....

Re: A typical game vs german

Would changing Germany's merc shipments to the standard European levels (i.e. 10 jaegars instead of 13, 7 BR instead of 9) make them a bit more reasonable? It seems pretty ridiculous that they get 30% more value for the same price as other civs' merc shipments.

I like the premise is cool. I feel that the eco carrying over leads to a huge snowball potential though. If your opponent gets a big raid in the first round, you've essentially lost the entire game, no?

When I first logged onto ESO, I had been playing AoE3 against the computer for 3-4 years, so I felt well-prepared for competitive online play.
