Re: Case to unban Tit and Kynesie
It should happen. There are only 2 outcomes and both are good. Either :ear: is a good mod, or we get a highly entertaining week of controversy as people take issue with his modding ability. It's win win. I admit, watching Ear and u55 go at it in the staff discord would be quite a...

Re: Skins/emotes
1. AoEO and AoE: Castle Siege were bad games by them self without emotes and skins, no amount of in game purchases was going to save them. I disagree, AoEO was pretty much your standard Age game. The thing that tanked it was the micro transactions -- the game forced you to choose between grinding f...

Re: Skins/emotes
Seems like they could just add a separate menu option for purchasable skins end emotes. I mean they can't just release this in 2020 without anything to appease people in the 10-20 age bracket. Without them this thing will die out imo. Think of it this way, we like to use "taunts" in game....

The first step to becoming a mod is to stop being politically opinionated. You give that up and I could see you possibly becoming mod. They could give you a tryout since you want to do it. Re: Skins/emotes
Why can't they be implemented?? They're actually releasing a new definitive edition right now with new civs and maps. Perhaps skins, emotes and loot crates as well. I'm not an expert on this stuff but afaik the changes they've implemented are purely aesthetic, i.e. the base code of the game hasn't ...

I had the impression romani was more diverse, guess i was wrong in that regard. At which % is defined as multicultural is more or less not set in stone. But i can't speak for him on his core beliefs. There's no need to speak for him, he makes it abundantly clear who he is every time he posts. The g...

Re: Case to unban Tit and Kynesie
Lifting their ban early when they haven't done anything to earn it would send the message that you can get away with anything if you are highly-ranked/entertaining enough, which will in turn encourage more bad behavior in addition to being fundamentally unfair. A 2 year ban means a 2 year ban, end o...

Re: AOE2 style wonders
I'm pretty sure the wonder mechanic in AoE2 was the inspiration for trade monopoly. I actually think TM is better, because it forces you to control the map instead of building a wonder in the corner and camping with a million layers of wall.

Re: What tournament do you want to see first in DE?
ESOC Players League. It was a sports-themed event where players who signed up for a tournament were "drafted" by a number of different teams, who then competed against each other.iwillspankyou wrote:I would vote, but I do not understand "EPL" - you guys are to technical for me

u1722 Pretty sure you're just trolling, but this was the same logic the devs used when developing AoEO and we all saw how well that worked out. That game actually saw a sharp uptick in popularity when they introduced a competitive mode with no perks, bonuses, etc.. Bottom line is...

Since the queen is the strongest unit, it should be a fully upgraded gendarme or perhaps a hatamoto samurai.

Re: ESOC and Racism
The thing is this offended by words thing is getting out of hand. Here in Denmark certain candy names, bricklaying tool names and icecream names are considered ''offensive'' and have been forced to change their brand names. People are too damn whiny. There has been a wave of similar behavior in the...

This is why globalisation is such an unmanageable mess from a cultural point of view. Now I have to remember that "Paki" is a racial slur in certain Anglophone countries, even though for me in Eastern Europe it sounds more like a shorthand version of Pakistani. It sounds the same like &qu...

Re: ESOC and Racism
I agree that the ban approach isn't very effective but what kind of hitting back do you propose? Ddosing him? I mean realistically there is no hitting back option. You could make the bans more effective if you could dish them out at a moments notice, but this isn't a subreddit with 3 million users ...

Re: Skins/emotes
I think customizable uniforms and architecture types would be cool. Alas, I doubt the primitive AoE3 software would be able to handle that.
Obviously loot crates and any other pay to win features are a huge no regardless of whether they're feasible or not.

Someone said a mean word to someone on the internet? Is this what got this party started? Calling someone a racial slur is not the same thing as using a curse word, and the user in question did it multiple times despite being told it was offensive. Re: Potential problem with the Incas
Please, let's not act as if devs cared about historical accuracy. There's no inca community today, thus no political incensive to go for this kind of weird design. Why do you keep asserting your theory about the devs' motivations as fact when its already been disproven? And what exactly do you thin...

Re: New Meta Aoe 3 DE
Since DE is primarily a revamp of an existing game, I doubt they'll make any changes that are all that groundbreaking (aside from adding the new civs of course). But if they were to do so, I think making it cheaper/faster to go to Age 4 would be a cool addition. It's a very fun age in terms of units...
