Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
Cassas are overall weaker than skirms but for the purpose of ranged fights they're actually better per cost. it's a pretty thin margin they win by (vs other skirms that is), and at the cost of getting roflstomped by artillery and cav much harder than regular skirms. Considering Ports are almost alw...

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
Man I really thing ports are fine. Ports and india are the civs Id change up last I think. Maybe brits can be added too. Japan seems quite average too but they are kinda weird in terms of civ design. If anything, Id make them deplete hunts slightly slower to compensate for a genitours nerf. They ki...

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
I think everyone agrees they are worse than Skirmishers, for what it's worth. Mhm I pick up on that sentiment (I only made like 4 threads on cass iirc :p) but we'll see whether that turns into action with the next patch I suppose. If you can do anything about it, I might suggest testing Cass with +...

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
Genitaltours is way too good. I suggest +2 LOS and +10% HP instead of +6 LOS. Ports have to have something decent in lategame, +6 range to +2 range is too much. Just -2 range. +4 is still too good and unfair for the other civs imo. I'd rather see buffed cassadors. erratum : I said LOS but I meant r...

I've read it, buffing cb shipments should be enough for start.

the only reason a civ is not used by anyone: they are weak. Yeah - I agree. Dont know how anybody can contest this anymore. And those who contest it, have chosen not to play them in tournament. Doesnt make any sense. Garja saying its no problem nerfing the br cos they always play behind your army. ...

Yeah, Russia is pretty much counter civ. With planned esoc buffs for Russia and nerfs for China, i fear China won't stand any chance.

Actually, they plan to buff unit shipments, not nerf them. I hope age III shipments will be buffed, so Russia will more incentive to age up.

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
lol when the patch team released the notes of reducing ports vills to 80f everyone speculated they would become op. Imagine if they boosted them even more. Also the patch team wants to keep the changes as small as possible so as not to overnerf/boost civs. Think of otto. Everyone thought they would...

Re: Improving Native Tribes (TP)
I think just lowering all the native wood costs slightly (techs too) could go a long way. It's already 200w for a TP and ES seems to have forgotten that when making the native costs. Yeah, that's the main problem. You need to invest 200w for tp+upgrades if want them to be effective. I think even wi...

Re: Improving Native Tribes (TP)
The only way i see them improving is to lower price a bit, so they could be cost effective. But still, main problem with natives is they cost wood, which is better spent elsewhere.

Re: Mercenaries rebalancing
I think it would be kind of cool if they buffed units like corsairs, arsonists, landsknechts maybe, and elmetis. I'm of the opinion that pieces of the game that are never used should absolutely be looked at as opportunities to add variety to the competitive landscape. My thoughts exactly, especiall...

No way, Sioux are unique for not having steel traps. There has to be another way to buff their eco.
dats the easiest and best way to buff a low eco civ lol
That will standardize them, team won't do it.

Re: Spanish Discussion Thread
@Jerom Yeah, but i think many of us agree Spain is in the lowest tier. Ok, maybe not the worst, but near bottom. Missionary buff is sorely needed for colo, and age 3 shipments.... idk, when I think of it, if they give 5 Lancers, Spain will have op cav shipments. Maybe buff pike shipments to give pe...
