Honestly for guys our level the best answer is whichever civ you are best with.

Whether people like it or not it is his spot in the tournament, he can forfeit if he wants... he had earned that spot in the semis.

I find it funny when people who are much worse question some of the advice given on the forums. I'm willing to trust the guy that has gotten to PR 39 with 1500 Jap games.
