Re: SirMusket reveals a secret Otto strategy

Sad - I thought I would get an honourable shut-out given my otto laming.

Strong civ, but I think there is an otto PR ceiling of about 30-31 where decent players don't have too much issues in beating your usual jan / abus / TP / sea, etc.

I read an article saying Age of Empires 4 was on a leaked agenda list for E3 presentations

Can't seem to find it now but 100% saw it there.

Re: Which piro ff did you lose to?

Used to lose a lot to him, have been okay the past ~3 years.

Fortunately, he hasn't learned how to make vills yet so as long as you last until 11-12 minutes you should be OK.

He's also given up on fast revolution which, I think, is still a pretty strong strategy.

Re: how would you rank the top 10 aoe3 players of all time

Grunt was by far the most dominant player in game history. H2O then had a solid streak as well as NaturePhoenix.

Big drop off for fourth place after those 4. Samwise comes close but not close enough imo.

Re: SirCallen vs SirMusket BO21 revisited

Of course it was easy, I famously beat sirmusket in a BO3 despite being drunk I famously beat sir_misket in a game where he was blatantly map hacking. The guy is average at best WITH cheats - inflates his PR. Without cheats, he is probably ~PR 25 which is pretty depressing given how much time he si...

Re: Why do people complain about maps with many natural obstables?

I think it has something to do with the fact that "bad pathing" is not something people like to plan their game around. It feels like a "bug", and thus losing because of it makes people angry. It's also especially bad because lag, which is a very unfortunate circumstance, makes ...

Re: Spahis deserve better

Having an infinite spahi card in industrial (similar to urumi) is a very old suggestion (it dates back to 2008 probably). It makes sense design wise but one should think first if it is really necessary. What makes a change "really necessary"? I think Otto have a slight mid-late game defic...

Re: diarouga vs snowww

I haven't really read this thread super closely (just skimmed it, really), but I don't really think walls/water should be a big balance concern at the moment. The fact of the matter is that when it works it is only because the opposing player doesn't understand how best to deal with it. That isn't ...

Re: diarouga vs snowww

Diarouga, if anything, that argument of your game vs kynesie just shows walls (at least with current stats/costs) are completely changing the game in a way they are not supposed to, especially with some people abusing it as much as possible ^^ I havent seen the game or the possible mistakes you did...

Unfortunately my work schedule can be a bit tight so Monday - Friday is simply not possible.

I am flexible for Saturday / Sunday Australia time (Friday evening through to Sunday morning GMT).

Can I propose 2000 GMT Friday evening, the 18th? Or the same time on the 19th?

Re: Squamiger's Giant World map - for those who like empire building

you can play 3v3 for sure. But I dont think you can start in Nomad mode since it's a scenario, not a custom map. But I could experiment with having everyone start in the middle rather than on the edges. I chose the edges because it makes the journey to find your base much longer, which theoreticall...

Yes. But I can also see it going the other way, with casters focusing on the big picture rather than trying to follow every little raid; and when people actually try to organize and think ahead of a strategy for 3v3, maybe we will see some cool things that we've never seen before (especially on a w...
