Re: Chinese Blockhouse FF
i do something like this for a fast industrial build. Good faith - 700c 700w 300export - 1000c and grab the russian consulate for the fort, blockhouse and factory before switching to brits. The blockhouse is only 90 export after good faith. Im not sure how reasonable it is for just an ff, since obvi...

Re: pls give sweden advanced torp
torps are too weak and die too fast. would really love to see a card for Sweden that's like ATP, but for torps. Age 1 card, decreases wood cost, increases HP, and gives the torps a short-range ranged attack. If spain can get ATP for tradeposts (their main eco), it only seems fair that swede could g...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
all the high level players above agree with me, torii is trash. it's really not that good and theres a reason you dont see it in tournament play. an extra shipment at 9 min is not a huge deal when you're throwing away export, pop space, eco in exchange for what is, at best, probably somewhere betwe...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
i personally disagree about the torii, i have always found those builds terribly one dimensional and very all in. The shrine boost is rather trivial, yes but the shrine itself gathering about 1 res per second, 1.3 with livestock is absolutely a good ageup bonus, especially alongside the other list ...

Re: why is cm too lame
technically minutemen are classed as infantry and "technically" units like elmeti, lancers, sowars/nagi, flamethrowers, and heavy artillery will make very very short work of them. the trouble is getting a good enough mass of said units before ports is unstoppable (good luck)

Re: Wilderness warfare card
if we're actually talking super late game, then extra nat hp can be relevant too, skirms tanking an extra one to two shots from other skirms or an extra skirm or 2 surviving a falc volley are all super relevant. its never a bad card

Re: How to beat walls as India
I think what people are getting at here is that India doesn't really need to win by rushing. You can start with early aggression but if your opponent repels the attack and walls, you can just contain them and play kinda passively and your eco will outscale most civs eventually. this. india is perfe...

Re: Wilderness warfare card
From my point of view, there are better cards to send in colonial, fortress and industrial instead. Generally you want to boost the attack of your skirmishers more than their tanking capabilities. It's not a bad card, but it's opportunity cost is too high and it's too specific. 5 years too late the...

Re: why is cm too lame
I mean if we're being honest its just yet another card that shows how euro-centric the assymetric designs ended up. All the euros have this card, the nats don't get minutes at all, just warriors that spawn one at a time and have an eternal windup so they rarely ever get even one shot. The asians sor...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
My first intuition was also to abuse GFA more. Right now you're kinda shipping gfa to get a small discount on the bank wagon. That doesnt seem that great actually. (Its confusing me that you get good results eco wise, Ive always wondered if shrine booming is simply not that good) shrine booming eve...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
It's a nice BO but I have two issues with it : 1) Naginata are a very good unit, but don't they lose cav fights against hussars (at least in age 2) ? That would be a serious issue with any kind of cav-semi-ff play. Two batches of ashis may be just better at raiding than one batch of nagis too. 2) F...

Yes, mitoe used this once to great effect, even using the (gasp) 7 ashi shipment. I'm not sure exactly how much his build differs from this as I've never seen it written out

Re: Japan Semi-FF
I have a question: why do a semi-FF with this build? Its only a generic eco opening that can be any sort of build, isnt it? i mean truthfully yes its aimed at doing anything. extended age 2, ff, semi ff, fast industrial. Its just able to semi ff, something other japan builds can't really do without...

Re: why is cm too lame
Increased TC damage and extra minutemen should be two separate cards. Or at the very least make the extra minutemen just the normal 6 minutes for 150/150. devs: euros age 1: 50% tc fire and big batch of minutemen per tc iro/haud age 2: 50% tc fire damage azzy: whatever the heck warriors are that us...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
I feel like you're missing a bit of the point of how the build plays out, you're not countering a rush, you're putting early raiding pressure on and giving yourself more flexibility. There's room to skip units entirely and just age or to stay age 2 as long as you want. You're gonna add shrines as th...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
In this case the tushogu age up ends up being worth a lot of value because of the good faith build. You're turning your age 1 card (300 res) and your ageup ("400ish res") into an immediate bank wagon and 70 xp. The pop space is also saving you 250w immediately because you're not booming sh...

Re: Japan Semi-FF
I'd try this with tori gates instead of toshogu shrine, tori gates is worth more resources than toshogu in general it's the better age up. you know the tushogu gives you the 200 export for the bank and gives you 20 pop space and 35% shrine rate boost and gathers about 1.3 res per second instead of ...

Re: the new AoE3
i believe a fast industrial meta is the next step in aoe3. the defense capabilities of players are incredible now and 1600+ res shipments are hard to ignore. mitoe demonstrated this with france vs brits and i think its the way forward
