Yes, you missed something, because we may not have made it clear (enough). The correct brackets can be found here.
Challonge became self-aware and made his own brackets in a way we did not want. A full explanation about how the brackets were made will be posted today or tomorrow.

The brackets will be generated by 1v1 ELO rating, and these rating are available online here . All the records of all the games will be posted on this website,...

Sign-ups end on february 26. It will be highly unlikely that you will get to see the brackets before everybody has signed up. ')

I am actually wondering where you are referring to, afaik, the issues in previous PK tournaments where not caused by a staff member that was playing in the tournament.
