Open your installation directory (programfiles/microsoftgames ( steam/steamapps/common if you are playing via Steam )) and find the folders RMF and RM3 respectively. In RM3, copy the folder "groupings" and then paste it into the folder RMF so that both folders now have the "groupings...

No the EP is great, but it seems simple to guess your custom maps are in the bad folder. I have a idea for fixing it but I'm not sure, just PM one of the patch designers to know where to copypaste them

So armor means range resist and it goes up to 0.41
And with the +15% hp boost I guess it might be better than cavalry combat

I think it is better with Ports (Russia ?), or while booming with Cree Coureurs (but only for 5 Coureurs... er...)
