Yep, the game releases in 3 months, they want people to pre-order, but they can't show a full length gameplay trailer. This trailer isn't anything new, how does it encourage people to pre-order?

I dont understand why they go for these gameplay trailers. Im not in the 'it looks so bad' camp at all, but I wouldnt say its looks are what sells. The trailers all look slightly clunky and most of the information is just not exciting. They're like: wow look we have a scenario! Which is basically the least we expect. They're not selling the game at all, it feels like its just a periodic report to let us know the game exists.

I honestly believe the game will be great, but I also cant help but feel like their marketing budget has been unacceptable small for such a big game.

idk. RTS games always have to prioritize "readability" in graphics over prettiness and stunning visuals. so it's hard to make trailers for them. RTS is just never going to look super spectacular, no matter how good graphics in general improve. the trailer is them doing the best with what theyve got i think

Id have just done something like in the opening cinematics of aoe2/3 and then add little snippets of gameplay to that. Thats generally how big title marketing goes, isnt it?
