Isn't the TC rush all in cheese? he would have less eco you can just make cav and run over him?

I managed to beat it yesterday by building wall segments in a ring around my base to block the TC foundation (I think it's the most recent game in my match history), and then making a lot of spearmen in Dark Age, but yeah it's ridiculously strong.
The key is to not complete the wall segments, just start them. That way if he doesn't TC rush you, you can still cancel them later on and get the wood back.

I played against someone who was able to sit on top of my TC wagon with villagers and I was basically never able to put it down in a place where it mattered. Ofc, that was only one game and the rest were just free wins

The fact you've had to resort to something like that though, and blindly (!), just shows that a fix is needed asap lol

Another question: how exactly do you play water?
I don't quite understand the concept, there is only food in the water and fishing boats in docks don't damage your opponent's boats, so what's even the point of making them other than getting irrelevant food income?
Also do you make like 5 spears and garrison them in towers to defend the shore or how can you stabilize your coastline?
and what about France with hulks lol...
Aaaaaaand one more thing, is there a way to ungroup units frmo a ctrl group? At the start of the game I'd like to put my scout into ctrl group 3, and upon reaching feudal age I'd like the scout to be removed frmo any ctrl groups, is that doable?

Mongol score is bugged. Whenever they move their buildings it doubles the amount of score that building gives. yea ik, but it feels irrelevant when making warships costs wood and gold and towers and shit dont help with contesting water, so vs french hulks you just auto lose on large water maps? @gibson

It's not beatable with english, you cant make pikes in age 1 and its too easy to deny the gold

French boats are very OP, it's basically the counter to age 2 boats... in age 2. Yeah the naval civ balance is extremely bad and this was very preventable if anyone had paid any attention to it. Weren't there lots of playtesters? Did no one tell them or wtf happened there?

The mongol tc rush is banned from the Genesis tournament, so I guess it was insanely strong and a lot of people were having trouble.

French was never playable for some reason in the beta or tech stress test. I don't think so outside of French on water and Mongol TC stuff. Maps are a way bigger balance issue. You can instantly lose on some maps with the spawn.Garja wrote:Is balance really that bad?
