No A-tier sc2 pro aside from marinelord is playing much though.gibson wrote:I think the sc2 pros who put time into the game are just built diff tbh.

Is Kelazhur not considered A-tier? He is one of the better foreigners. The spanish brothers LucifroN and Vortix too, but they stopped a while ago in 2016 if we look at Liquipedia.blackwidow wrote:No A-tier sc2 pro aside from marinelord is playing much though.gibson wrote:I think the sc2 pros who put time into the game are just built diff tbh.
All three of them play a lot of aoe4 too from what it looks like.

Re: Who's gonna do well in EGCTV's Genesis tournament?
A bit silly, since being in the closed betas would be an unfair advantage as well. So would having pre-release access.Mr_Bramboy wrote:I don't know, but I'm guessing because they were involved in development (pre-closed beta) and that was deemed as an unfair advantage. If you insist on hosting a tournament so close after release, you're pretty much accepting this unfairness so it seems dumb to then draw this arbitrary line at alphas

Well, the line has to be drawn somewhere. And while most of the 'big names' had access to the closed beta, only a handful of people have been grinding for months. So, I understand why the line was drawn where it was.Goodspeed wrote:A bit silly, since being in the closed betas would be an unfair advantage as well. This is just speculation, though. It may not be Pesti's doing: perhaps the devil is in the small letters in the NDA.
Re: Who's gonna do well in EGCTV's Genesis tournament?
First impressions, of course on a very limited basis due to the lack of time and games thus far:
General RTS skills translate very well to aoe4. Not a single truly new face got far in the tournament, every single player in the later rounds had probably thousands of hours of more or less competitive RTS experience.
However, thus far there doesn't seem to be a massive difference in terms of skill transfer between the different RTS games and aoe4. Players from all games got far. Aoe3 players didn't perform amazingly overall, but also not everyone participated, the community is fairly small and some, like Hazza, had really tough matchea fairly early.

thats expected right, you cant have never played a rts in life and in a week be top tier in aoe4.. I think there is hardly anyone new in the top1000.Astaroth wrote:First impressions, of course on a very limited basis due to the lack of time and games thus far:

but likely in a year there will be new names at the top, people that started rts with aoe4.

Re: Who's gonna do well in EGCTV's Genesis tournament?
It isn’t access to closed beta, or else I and many others would be barred. It’s employment conflict of interest (Mark@FE). Probably M$ “playing it safe.”

Hey thanks :) Yea it sucked missing it by one game, but it was a lot of fun and didn't expect to get that far in the first place, and kasva is strong atm. Happy with it.Cometk wrote:i know it sucks to have just missed the ro16, but congratulations on going so far! proud of u!!blackwidow wrote:No A-tier sc2 pro aside from marinelord is playing much though.gibson wrote:I think the sc2 pros who put time into the game are just built diff tbh.

Idk about Kelazhur I wouldn't consider him A-tier, he was at one point. Luci and vortix were also definitely A-tier but they aren't playing anymoreaaryngend wrote:Is Kelazhur not considered A-tier?
