I would like to see a 2v2 tournament

I mean, you can see webcams any time you want, but I guess one of us could stream a webcam for you. A bit boring to just watch a webcam, but if you insist.

He lost the Winners' Finals, but then met him (NyanRacingCat) again in the Grand Finals and won that instead.rsy wrote:@blackwidow gj man! Congrats!
Is it just me or don't you have to win two sets after you come from the loser's bracket? That's how it used to be like in SC2 tournaments.

Re: AOE4 tournaments
Usually the winners finalist will have a 1map advantage in bo5+. But being topside in the bracket already gives you an advantage in the picks/bans phase.aaryngend wrote:He lost the Winners' Finals, but then met him (NyanRacingCat) again in the Grand Finals and won that instead.rsy wrote:@blackwidow gj man! Re: AOE4 tournaments
Nah, the advantage is the player in the losers bracket has to play an extra series as well as favoritism in map picks.aaryngend wrote:He lost the Winners' Finals, but then met him (NyanRacingCat) again in the Grand Finals and won that instead.rsy wrote:@blackwidow gj man! Congrats!

Re: AOE4 tournaments
Well two sets are an extra series. Same thing. Basically you play one Bo3/5, if the player coming from the loser bracket wins they play another Bo3/5 and whoever wins that wins the whole thing. If the loser bracket player loses the first set he is out immediately.gibson wrote:Nah, the advantage is the player in the losers bracket has to play an extra series as well as favoritism in map picks.aaryngend wrote:He lost the Winners' Finals, but then met him (NyanRacingCat) again in the Grand Finals and won that instead.

Weird rules but that is another way of doing this. I personally prefer the other rulesetblackwidow wrote:Usually the winners finalist will have a 1map advantage in bo5+. But being topside in the bracket already gives you an advantage in the picks/bans phase.
Still, well done and hope you compete in more tourneys in the future
Re: AOE4 tournaments
If you have another bo3/5 if the loser bracket wins the first set, they'd have to play 2 more series than the winner bracket. What gibson meant is that the loser bracket already played an additional series before coming to the grand finals.aaryngend wrote:Well two sets are an extra series. Same thing. I don't think it makes much sense to have a second series if the loser bracket finalist wins the first set, it has too many drawbacks. You can have a very short grand final if the winner bracket finalist wins, but you can also have an extremely long grand final if the loser bracket finalist wins the first set. This makes scheduling the grand final a nightmare. It's also less exciting imo, the real excitement only comes after the loser bracket finalist wins the first set, before that there's not too much on the line for the winner bracket finalist.
