AllStars Showmatch - Capoch vs Brezee

Post by EliteRifleman »

Image Today we are pleased to present the following showmatch "AllStars - First Edition"
Players Capoch, one of the best AoE2 players in the world, and Breeze, one of the best AoE3 players, will play a series of games "at their own house", "at an opponent's house" and finally at a "neutral place".
What does this mean? Well, let them play a BO3 in AoE2, a BO3 in AoE3 and finally a BO7 in AoE4 to define the winner!

On February 1 and 2 will be the day that will be played, who will be the most suitable for Age of Empires 4?

More information like streamers, channels and prizes later.
Casting will be free, you just have to talk to the event organizers!

Man, you know the playerbase has declined a lot when a colonel is considered "one of the best AoE3 players". :uglylol:

I just wish I wasn't such a lazy-ass. Maybe I could make a push to become a high level player myself now that contest is so low. Just sort of need motivation to surpass the 1500-1600s barrier.

But apart for my whining, the idea of the event is good, but I'm afraid that Capoch will just 2-0 Breeze on Aoe2 and Breeze will do the same on AoE3, making this two BO3 sorta of irrelevant, only the BO7 on AoE4 worth watching.
Hard to find people that are more of less evenly matched on all the 3 games to make a interesting series.

If you're only looking at the best players in each game then it's pretty much impossible to find even matches. The best AoE3 players are never going to take a game off the best AoE2 players at AoE2, and the other way around. The only exceptions were former AoE2 pros who went to AoE3 and did well like iamgrunt, but they've all quit by now. To find even matches you need to be willing to use players who are mediocre at both games, but then you lose the star power so it's not ideal either.

Basically this kind of format is not a thing for a reason

Wow, excited for this. If showmatches go well, I wonder if a 'Tri Empire Cup' could be organized.

Are there any details about prizepool and specific settings?

So that it can be added to Liquipedia

Thats a nice shoutout Knusch played a lot of aoe 2 in this summer and reached a very good level there. He is very well rounded in all games (3 being his best ofc)

This is the handbook.
The prizepool is $100 for the winner and $50 for the second place

Stop giving breeze 50 bucks. Capoche wins aoe2 and aoe4 breeze wins aoe3, nothing interesting

In fact, player Breeze told us that he wanted to donate the money he won to the organization for future tournaments and events. The correct thing is to give him his prize, what he does with his money is his problem.

The All Stars Showmatch Capoch vs Breeze is an event that seeks to revalue the entire Age of Empires saga. To obtain the victory, players will have to fight in both Age of Empires 2, 3 and 4. The event will take place on February 1 and 2 at 19 GMT and will be broadcast on https://twitch.tv/foquitaman and https://www.youtube.com/c/JuanPerottiAoE (however the cast is open). See you there!

Hah oh wow, I heard of this but I was like it must be a different breeze. Does breeze play aoe4 at all? maybe he is a decent smurf but still capoach is very good at aoe4. As others said this is a very difficult format to do, and would need to pick 2 people very specifically to try and get a close series. Either way it is always fun to see fun events, I'll have a watch.

The aoe3 part of the showmatch is a joke. Capoch is playing like a lance corporal.
The aoe2 games were more fun to watch!

I expected much more from these series. Of course the tight series were on AOE4, but I think both should have tried to learn something about each other's game. Just for showing respect, it could have been a nice crossover. Breeze didn't even know how to hunt a boar, and Capoch opened DE for the 1st time to play vs Breeze. No reason to watch it.

That reminds me of the viper vs daut aoe3 showmatch that many people were very excited about, and it turned out to be a corporal vs captain showmatch.

I mean what do you expect? You think their gona take 2 months and like 100 hours to put into a game (aoe2 or aoe3 whatever their not familiar with) to practice and then after showmatch have those hours be completely pointless.

what struck me about this showmatch is that since it's very unlikely for a player to be a pro at both aoe3 and aoe2, then the aoe2 pro is going to bash the aoe3 pro in aoe2, and the aoe3 pro is going to bash the aoe2 pro in aoe3, then it 's just an aoe4 showmatch, and im not sure breeze's aoe4 smurf is as good as capooch, who playted aoeo too
