Well longbows already have a higher dps than skirms, so in theory the bonus damage multiplier is evened out. Still, the animation of longbows is quite clunky and inconsistent, so maybe the 1,5 multiplier would be a reasonable buff. And i would love to see it on xbows too actually.

Well by design lbs are supposed to be weaker vs HI but stronger vs everything else. They have less multiplier vs HI but more dps overall.

However it's true that lbs and xbows are too underwhelming vs HI compared to CIR skirms. I like the idea of adding a small multiplier vs HI with yeomen, since that card is anyway not super strong to begin with, and it would be an elegant way to buff lbs in mid or late game (they also happen to have no upgrades). Probably adding 0.25, so that from x1.25 it becomes x1.5.

I wanted that change at one point because my VC lb ff would lose to India sepoy ff which is dumb, but GS didn't want that one (I don't remember why). Not having anti musk is a bit dumb I agree, you have to send the jaegers to beat the sepoy mass lol.

Lb are a great unit they need no buff. Against musks just use walls and/or artillery. Lb are quite good in art wars too.

You can't really use artillery against India though. They have siege elephants, and cease fire to deal with it. Also lb are bad in art wars.

You can just contain and siege I guess. In late game India is better than Brit. Also at one point, India is going to outboom with a 2nd TC, so you need to push at one point with brit, and lb are bad when you need to push.

India would have a lot more than 50 sepoys because he'd be in age 3 so yea, India would demolish that army.
Not having any unit that counters sepoys is a big issue tbh, you have to rely on the 10 jaegers.

I would change to CIR to give bonus vs heavy infantry. It's just dumb that skirm civs can obtain 3x but your only anti-heavy inf is 1.3x lol.
Is it 1.5x, 1.7x or 2x? Can't say.

Please don't compare Crossbowmen to post-Fortress Skirmishers. By design, the unit is intended to become obsolete after the Fortress Age (Industrial Age for Portuguese).

I think making "Guard Longbowmen" researchable by default, instead adding +0.25 Vs Heavy Infantry to Yeomen is an option worth considering. My only reservation is that the shipment is already more than viable, and that I'm not convinced that the change is desirable enough, outside of popularity.
