Tourneys are where people try to use their best strats. I'm the uncontested biggest mercs player around here, yet I never use them in real tourney games, only in qs.

Agreed. And that's why I don't understand why you are so against it if this card is only used for cheesing in QS.

It's not used just because people don't have the balls to do that. In fact it's very strong and would have a good win rate even in tourney.

I used it once in tourney vs lordraphael and lost. It's not just the card, it's commiting to saloon strat. It's bad.
Only on few maps, in few match ups, and if you get the right mercs, it can be strong.

Because we don't nerf stuff which doesn't need nerfs? Why do you want to nerf it if it's underused??

Ye it hasn't even have to be that extreme. Merc strats have always been a thing with Germans in a way or other. The fact that EP maps give lot of safe mines and close resources in general makes those strats strictly better than in past. And merc combat itself is just ridicolous at 25% anyway. Even at 20% would be extremely good.

yea why nerf some strat that is fun. If anything make mercs not random according to maps and let it be legit. Also its easier to balance OP compositions like manchu + jeager.

I don't think that nerfing Uhlans is a good idea in general. Apart from its role as a freebie on top of regular shipments, the Uhlan is also the only cavalry unit available to Germans. Nerfing early Uhlans has the, not necessarily desired, side effect of nerfing late-game Uhlans even more, since all upgrade cards scale on the starting values. As far as I know, German late-game is not considered heavily overpowered even with the original Uhlan stats (right?). They even lack some flexibility due to having no muskets and being dependent on war wagons instead of cheaper (and less pop intense) goons to counter cav.
Now you could argue that Uhlans are the most upgradeable unit in the game etc., but being upgradeable firstly means to have all these upgrade cards in your deck and secondly that you actually send them instead of other cards. Fully upgrading Uhlans is a huge investment (between 4-7 hc shipments, equivalent to 4k-7k ressources!) which naturally should pay of by acquiring a relatively strong unit. This is undermined by nerfing Uhlan stats.

That's why lipizzianer cavalry got buffed to 25%. Heck, even spanish riding school could use a buff, although i'm not sure you'd keep those cards in your deck usually, so idk how helpful could that be.

Yeah right now fully upgraded uhlans are just missing 8 hp compared to RE fully upgraded uhlans, but they have 4 more attack

I mean, going for a mirror isn’t necessarily indicative of how strong or weak something is. Those German mirrors were almost always on game 1 where you’re just trying to land on something fair, and Kaiser, Raphael, Snowww, and myself are all very confident in German mirrors so there’s no reason to refuse one.

That's because of the map pool. You can't pick Germany on Deccan or NE, but on kamchatka or Florida Germany is op.

I'm pretty sure it's 20%. I'm definitely not convinced it's a real issue, yet.
