Popping each batch earlier brings extra food so I don't think it makes it so much harder for russia to train units. And in the worst case you will just delay your batch of units by 3s

Russian settler cost was decreased to 255 in EP 2, but reverted back to 270 in EP 3. Currently, the only change for Russia is 17 stre > 20 stre for the age 3 card.

Changing back to 50s would be pretty impactful yeah. Could definitely push Russians over the edge in some match ups, since it enables the 17v age up.
The edge being that they set up an unbreakable forward base.

Let's not forget Russia can turn into one of the hardest scaling civs in 1v1 when they get all their unit cards in age 3 and their units become figuratively free.

Losing a fight hard is not game losing for them at all at that point.

Maybe but you will probably agree to say that it still a better change since it gives more options to russia. If people are afraid of russia being too strong, we could try -3sec vil training time and +15f cost at the same time so that the buff is not too hard.

Poor Russia. Built for maps that don't have 3 hunts and 2 mines that aren't raidable.

Well russia was already considered weak on RE, as long as the opponent had a minimum of resources. I think it deserves a small buff regardless of the amount of res in base.
But yeah anyway it's too many res in base on EP overall. We need to remove some

Russia was always a good pick on RE imo, but that's only cause often you literally don't have any safe res after 6-7 min. If you had just guaranteed decent res, russia would be weak in qs.
On the other hand, a lot of EP maps have siberia level of hunts in base, which is not something that should be standard. I wish we would have something between.

Well, seems that you guys didn't want to listen to players' suggestions concerning Russia at all. What is this forum used for? If what everybody talked about didn't even been looked at, why do we need this particular sub-forum for Russia?

These are interesting questions. I never thought about it in this way.
At the moment, it seems like the EP is nearly balanced around Russia. By this i mean that Russia simply stays nearly the same and only other Civs are changed. (Exception 20 Strels ofc, but it s nearly irrelevant imo). If this has been intended before start of the patch, then this thread indeed has been useless.

I have seen @Goodspeed 's comment on the russian thread for the beta and i was thinking that perhaps, if we want to increase the variety of russian builds, we could look into decreasing by 5 seconds (from 50 to 45) the training time of the vill batch. A 17 vills age up implies that you train 4 batches, therefore you could age up 20 seconds sooner (12 seconds to queue the first batch + 45x4= clicking up at 3:12, which isn't too bad for an economic build). The 14 vill age up wouldn't be affected too much since even if you technically can click up 15 seconds sooner, most of the times you won't have the food for it so i don't think we would see russia starting to age before 2:35-2:40. Obviously it is a buff, you gain more villager seconds from villagers training more quickly, but the rusket buff could be reverted and russia should be in a good spot. EP russia also had cheaper vills at some point so i think this sort of change shouldn't be too controversial.

Well it is quite controversial.
Some people (me included) believe that Russia is currently too strong, and that RE Russia would be totally fine.
I wish the 17v age up was viable but it's not, and it's very hard to buff it without buffing the 14v age up. With that change, people would just go for the same rush strat and it would be stronger...
