Place your bets for the round of 32
Posted: 15 Mar 2015, 23:12
Matches to bet on for the ro32:
I've chosen 5 matches to bet on this round based on what I think will be close and/or exciting. You cannot bet on any other matches!
1. [strike]Garja vs Boneng[/strike] 3-2
2. [strike]Tibia vs Somppukunkku[/strike] 2-3
3. [strike]goongoon vs Blackstar_OP[/strike] 0-3
4. [strike]Fard vs Victor_swe[/strike] 3-1
5. [strike]Masterchif vs PrinceofKabul[/strike] 0-3
I should probably mention that the reason I didn't choose my own match against spadel is that I don't plan on participating seriously in this tournament. I signed up to convince samwise12 to cast which he probably will next sunday, but don't actually feel like playing the game. I'll do some weird builds like I did in the round of 64 and will probably lose 3-0 ') I look forward to watching the rest of the tournament and betting on the matches though!
Prize
To make it interesting I'll throw in 100$ for the gambler who has the most points after the finals of this tournament.
How it works:
Everyone starts with 1000 points. You can bet all of your points each round, but of course considering how many games are coming up it would be wise to save some ')

If you're new to this, you don't have to sign up anywhere. You can just place your bet in this thread and it will be counted. Make sure you read the rules below before betting.[/font]
The ro64 is a best of 5, so there are 8 possible results you can bet on:
Player a winning
Player b winning
Player a winning 3-0
Player b winning 3-0
Player a winning 3-1
Player b winning 3-1
Player a winning 3-2
Player b winning 3-2
The system works in such a way that betting on things that the rest of the people haven't bet on gets you a higher rate of payout if that result should happen, but of course disagreeing with other betters generally means you are betting on an unlikely result. This way it should even out, and of course the best way to win is to bet according to how you think the games will go, though strategically throwing some points on a result that is not too unlikely but people haven't been betting on can be quite rewarding.
Betting on a player winning gets you less bang for your buck as well because it is lower risk. For max profits bet on the specific results.
I will make new threads for the payouts of each individual match.
Rules
- You can't bet more than 500 points on a single result (so no more than 500 on player A winning or on player A 2-0 etc).
- You can't bet on your own matches except on you winning and you winning x-0
- You may donate points to other betters, but only if they have already lost everything.
- You can edit your bets, but not after the matches of course. Any bets edited after the match has started will not be counted.
[font size="4"]Place your bets and best of luck, my fellow gamblers![/font]
(And don't wait too long because who knows, these guys might play before the weekend)
[font size="4"]Round of 64 recap[/font]
(seperate threads have been made for the payouts)
The round of 64, although only 2 betting matches were played so far, was already memorable. Due to the Veni 2-0 upset against Mitoe, Somppukunkku pulled out an insane win that is on par with the all time best win record from the previous tournament, and sits comfortably on top with a whopping 5310 points. Catching him is going to be a challenge!
Records after the ro64:
Biggest profit in a single match: Somppukunkku (Veni vs Mitoe) - 4050 points
Biggest loss in a single match: spadel - 560 points
Most unexpected result: Veni vs Mitoe 2-0 - odds x9.1
Most points bet on a single match: Veni vs Mitoe - 11718 points

I know this is all a bit complicated, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask in this thread.
