Prize
To make it interesting I'll throw in 100$ for the gambler who has the most points after the finals of this tournament.

How it works
Everyone starts with 1000 points. You can bet all of your points each round, [strike]but of course considering how many games are coming up it would be wise to save some[/strike]

The finals are a best of 9, so there are 12 possible results you can bet on:
Player a winning
Player b winning
Player a winning 5-0
Player b winning 5-0
Player a winning 5-1
Player b winning 5-1
Player a winning 5-2
Player b winning 5-2
Player a winning 5-3
Player b winning 5-3
Player a winning 5-4
Player b winning 5-4

The system works in such a way that betting on things that the rest of the people haven't bet on gets you a higher rate of payout if that result should happen, but of course disagreeing with other betters generally means you are betting on an unlikely result. This way it should even out, and of course the best way to win is to bet according to how you think the games will go, though strategically throwing some points on a result that is not too unlikely but people haven't been betting on can be quite rewarding.

Betting on a player winning gets you less bang for your buck as well because it is lower risk. For max profits bet on the specific results.

I will make new threads for the payouts of each individual match.

Rules
- You can't bet more than 1500 points on a single result (so no more than 1500 on player A winning or on player A x-0 etc).
- You can't bet on your own matches except on you winning and you winning x-0
- You may donate points to other betters, but only if they have already lost everything.
- You can edit your bets, but not after the matches of course. Any bets edited after the match has started will not be counted.

Certainly a lot has happened in the semis. Even though the results weren't too unexpected, there was a surprisingly small amount of points bet on 5-3 Blackstar, allowing blackbob68 to take the biggest win in AoE3 bets history, 8600 points! He smashed his name right into first place, and is looking at winning 100$ if no one stops him! The job seems to be one for Veni, who has been doing very well throughout the betting event, winning solid amounts of points almost every match. He took a beating in the semis though, losing almost 1000 points and losing first place to blackbob. Somppukunkku, who was in first place for almost half the tournament, lost over 2000 but of course, he's still in it.

And let's face it, anything can happen in the finals. I predict risky gambles and wacky odds, and someone is probably going to win a lot of points. I hope you're all ready for the epic series coming up, and I hope to see your hype reflected in your bets! Happy gambling!

Because I want the finals to be the decider. Also, it allows all of us to go all out on this match instead of dividing our points which means a lot will be bet on this match, increasing the amount of points that can be won as well as making the odds more reliable. The odds would be crazy otherwise and probably still will be ')
