Boomed to the max possible?
Germany should be on first place due to 139 vill pop and the +35% gather rate card for settler wagons, which is worth more than a factory with 20 SW.

1. Germany
2. China
3. France
4. Brits (sheepy stuff)
5. Iro (?)
6. India
7. Russia
8. Ports
9. Spanish
10. Japs
11. Aztec
12. Otto
13. Dutch
14. Sioux

It depends on how calculate eco, if you consider civ with max eco at 40, its probably Iro, but over time British has the best eco usually.

Aztec is likely higher than japan. Infinite 1000c is worth roughly 2 1/2 factories if its stacked up and rolling in every 40 seconds, and their farms are nearly 2 food/s, i dont think japan even approaches that

Aztec is slightly higher.

Fully carded japanese villagers gather 1.38f per second (source).

Fully carded aztec villagers gather 1.45f per second, based on:
  • 10% via Chinampa, Farm upgrade I
  • 15% via Food silos, Sustainable Agriculture, Great Chinampa, Farm upgrade II
  • 20% via Grain Market, Wise Woman, Farm upgrade III
  • 50% Imp. upgrade
Adding up to 190%, yielding: 0.5 f/s * (1 + 1.9) = 1.45 f/s

The difference between Jap and Aztec food vills is 5%.

But they get 1k coin crates every 40 seconds which is much quicker than any other coin gather rate

Pre40 eco on RE should be: 1. Iro (3k-3.2k), 2. China (~2850),3. India (~2500), 4. Ger (~2700), 5. Brit (2650-2700 using wood trade), 6. France (~2600), 7. Aztec (~2100), 8. port (~2200), 9. Japan (~2000 assuming u have sheep/good hunts), 10. russia (~2150-2200 without church card), 11. Otto (~2100 without cows, up to max 2200 with cows), 12. Spain (~2050), 13. Dutch (~1900 without a wood trade), 14. Sioux (~1700).
Take in count euro civs always have inflated scores because of more expensive upgrades and buildings, so don't get confused over the scores, the order is correct.

Do you really think iro has best Eco? I feel like they may have the best 40 score but after that they usually drain like crazy. China wayy more op imo

This ignores the disparity in total vill numbers as well. I knew japan food rate was high but with only 75 vills that is quite painful. Oh and you missed the temple support 10% there too

Yea, I'm thinking China might actually be above Iro, because they have 25 vills on firepit during the fight. They still have cows/sheep and farms with reasonable upgrades, they don't have to gather any coin for a long time, and they have a 1500 res infinite shipment, so I'm not sure.

Oh it's pre 40

@Squamiger The cow eco is also slightly more annoying than with Brits since you need to pay attention to how you position/rotate your fields iirc. I wasn't sure about the rest anymore since my last treaty game lies back some years, so I waited for somebody else. What Beef said:

How would the rankings be if it was after the treaty?? When everyone starts fighting and all

Torie's subjective ranking of economies during the fight
1. China (water buffaloes and goats still remain, with anywhere from 99-119 villagers and more than 2 factories)
2. Germany with 139 settler population
3. British (cows cows cows)
4. Azteque with 0 villagers dancing (spam infinite 1k coin)
5. France with church card (2 mill cards and 3 plantation cards + church)
6. Russia/France without church card (remove church from above)
7. Portugal (2 mill cards and 2.75 plantation cards)
8. India (2.75 mill cards and 1.5 plantation cards)
9. Spain (1 mill card and 3 plantation cards)
10. Ottoman (1 mill/plantation card)
11. Germany with 89 settler population
12. Azteque with 15 villagers dancing (still spam inf 1k coin, but slow dancing with warrior priests is a bit taxing on economy even if it seems fun)
13. Japan (shrines aren't actually that great in the late game for missing 24 villagers and factories, but at least Japan has quite a few mill/plantation cards)
14. Dutch (50 villagers is too weak, 10 banks do not make up for 49 villagers)
15. Iroquois (needing 25 people dancing is very detrimental, but it's difficult to rank Iroquois because of how lopsided coin/food gather rates for Iroquois is)
16. Sioux
17. Germany with 40 settler population (make sure you remake settlers before running out of resources if you do this)
18. Your economy after oprichniki run through it and you don't react, so make sure you react

Just my opinion, not in order. Not from a ranked pro, but seasoned veteran of thousands of games.

Maps make a difference like Andes that is a faster draining map (because inf train faster its a all out smash) or others that have more trees, and trade routes to subsidize.
also makes a difference how well you culv micro and what civ you are against.
What team cards may be in play, or special nat upgrades

China and brits seem to have an unbeatable eco sometimes. It takes a civ with a good counter to them to win economically.
Port eco also is very sustaining, many of their units have good longevity
But if Germany gets low and puts out its villagers again they can come back easier if their opponent is also low.
I find if Aztec can have access to wood they also can hold out pretty good.
Most people play iros as a one trick big score then delete down for massive nat army, wood is pretty unsustainable so once dry they are in trouble.
Sioux has little eco, but also with teepees can drain faster. But severely limited in coming back if low.
Russia requires constant pressure to drain, it can be tough but it can happen if they are too spammy and not enough cannons.
Dutch will drain vs most civs
I think Otto has a solid eco but its not OP
Japan is pretty stable but score is deceptive as it bottoms out at a lower score.
India's eco is good enough you can delete down if you do an early trade but can be slow once your coin runs out.
and then there is france.... you think you got them, then a minute later they are back and your losing.
Spain requires you to play well to make use of their eco with good kill ratios.

In general civs with eco specialties do well (special techs like aztec age up for food, ports church card tech etc..), and civs with more balance over using a trade, and some civs use many resource crates (indi, iro, aztec)
civs that can suffer are those that trade strength for cost (sioux, dutch, india,)
Civs with cheap units (russia, china) do well
Civs that require too much wood can suffer ( iros, aztec, to some extent india)

Easiest ecos I think are Ports and France. They are strong eco that require little work to balance well and sustain a long fight. Russia is also pretty straight forward

@Lukas_L99 why would Germany have more res? 2700 ger score is obviously less res than 2500 india boom, do the math.
