Yes. Supremacy players are fulfilling their most bestial and primitive needs, whereas Treaty players are redefining art itself.
Re: Are the treaty players more intellectual than sup players?
treaty players always stretch a civ to its limits, actually use artillery and know what an arsenal is, and have patience in all their booming time
Sup just ff into skirm goon bots and then resign when they run out of coin mines
I think its pretty clear here who the intellectuals are

The better the player, the closer the game, the longer it last. Easy point for treaty players.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand treaty. The playstyle is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the build orders will go over a typical player's head. There's also a civ like France's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into the civ's characterisation- the personal philosophy of an insta-spawn fully upgraded cuir spam draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The treaty players understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these plays, to realise that they're not just useful for winning- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Treaty ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the existential humour in Russia's "oprichnik-cavbox," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Spain's 50% unction skirm/mortar genius unfolds itself across Great Plains. What fools.. how I pity them.
And yes, by the way, i DO have a 40min Treaty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

I am sure treaty players must be discussing utopin or distopian litaerature in order to get their villagers to be working more efficent then they have before. While supremacy players let their settlers loose aka idle for quite some time. Letting the controll over your villagers go, just going with the flow seems to be a supremacy player thing while treaty players try to optmize the system of 1984 (damn i should really read that book).

Re: Are the treaty players more intellectual than sup players?
Legend says, once upon a time, kids used to roam the streets on halloween night knocking on doors, asking the fateful question - "Trick or Treaty?". The house owner, at that moment, was put in front of a very complicated dilemma: whether to take their chances, and become victim of a naughty trick, thought and performed by the mischievous kids who were unimaginably creative when it came to inventing new ways to get on the nerves of the neighbours, or to let the kids in, let them plug an ethernet cable to their laptop, and start a LAN party of Age of Empires 3 where a Treaty NR40 NO OP game would take place. Not many people were brave enough to take on this challenge, but those who were, were able to bring incredible fights to life on the virtual battlefield. The cleverness of the kids was put against the long-standing experience of the house owners, and the battles were very fierce and intense.
At the end of the night, all the kids would then reunite in front of the municipality of the town and count how many treaty wins were they able to score during the most magical night of the year. The mayor would then select the top 3 winning children and enroll them for a very exclusive and elitist advanced education program that could only be undertaken by the smartest kids of the country, those who had an IQ of at least 140 and were on a treaty winning streak of at least 20 wins. Big plans were waiting ahead of these young men, gifted by nature with astonishing intellectual capabilities.
To this day, the legend still stands. We do not know whether the legend is based on real events or if it is just a fictional, folkloristic tale that is still passed on from father to son, but what we do know for sure, is that treaty players have higher IQ than supremacy players. And that's a fact.
