Units not attacking

So, i tried to play a nr 40 4v4 game as germany (all green ping) on great plains, but my units wouldnt attack at all unless i put them right next to them (if i attack moved they just stood there). enemy units kept attacking normally but my units just stood there like sitting dogs (uhlans, war wagons, doppelsoldners).
Why does this happen and can it be fixed?

My pc specs are: intel i7 5820k geforce 980 16gb ram 1 tb ssd. Any upgrades from this will work?
Also i have fiber internet, and like i mentioned there was green connection from all 8 players.

The others you're playing with and against can also cause lag cuz of bad pc and net.

But their units were attacking fine with triple gendarme spam, it doesnt make sense...

Not necessarily, but the odds of 8 players all having the PC and net to handle the ridiculous scale of a full 4v4 are very slim.

Hmm, ill avoid 4v4s then i guess too much stuff going on causes game engine to have a mental breakdown i guess

This is caused by "PC lag", not connection. When there's too many units, their pathing just fails, it is a common issue.

Lots of melee units jammed into a tight space will have trouble attacking. Also if you attack move with a large group of melee units they have trouble attacking, you should never be attack moving melee units in treaty.
