Re: 2v2 Hidden TR Tournament: Announcement + Qualifier Sign Ups
If there was sup equivalent then how would GUA know that his opponents are suffering from anxiety at the prospect of facing/playing GUA? Is it even correct to call people staying in game too long turking? If cosuco was playing against kynesie in a jap mirror, would we even know who is who? ... so many questions ...deleted_user wrote:Lol TR beat SUP to the smurf tournament. Just another reason TR is the superior gamemode for superior people.

Re: 2v2 Hidden TR Tournament: Announcement + Qualifier Sign Ups
We have plenty of time to decide but while I'm procrastinating I'll write down some ideas for the format for the 2v2 tourney
1. Round robin, top 2 teams play each other in finals
This is what floko told me he and ziv were thinking when they were discussing the tourney. Group stage matches would be bo3, finals bo5
2. Copy Treaty Titans Invitational format
So basically how this tourney worked was, first round is a groupstage. Each player faced two opponents in the group stage. So there are 3 scenarios possible
1. One player goes 2-0, two players go 1-1, one player goes 0-2. 0-2 player is out, 1-1 players must then play each other to determine who moves on to the finals against the 2-0 player
2. Two players 2-0, two players 0-2. 2-0 players move on to finals
3. All 1-1. The players that haven't played each other yet would then play each other to determine who makes the finals
In the treaty titans invitational group stage/decider matches were bo1 and the finals were bo3, for this tourney I would want bo3 group stage/decider and bo5 finals.
3. Simple double elimination bracket
All matches bo3 except grand final bo5. Instead of agree to mu game 1 and then winner picks first after (how it would work for bo3), for the grand finals I think the winners bracket advantage should mean the team from the winners bracket should counterpick and then alternating. So the team from the winners bracket can counterpick 3 games and the team that came from the losers bracket can counterpick 2.

Re: 2v2 Hidden TR Tournament: Announcement + Qualifier Sign Ups
I think it should be team 1 player 1 picks first, then team 2 player 1 picks, team 1 player 2 picks, and then finally, team 2 player 2 picks for the counterpick, rather than a full team counterpick.dicktator_ wrote:We have plenty of time to decide but while I'm procrastinating I'll write down some ideas for the format for the 2v2 tourney

I think A1 B1 B2 A2 could be more fairerdicktator_ wrote:Yea that's what I meant, that's also how they did it in the 2v2 sup tournies.
A B indicates team
1 2 indicates players
Fine line to something great is a strange change.

Re: 2v2 Hidden TR Tournament: Announcement + Qualifier Sign Ups
Iirc last time I played with you guys I think you were all pretty satisfied with changes and more or less all civs were balanced across the table, I think at that point it's more of a preference than strategy tbh.

Btw seems like team trade has become the norm again on TP, so I guess it won't be banned
