The mix up comes from the fact that the vanilla game was expanded upon. In vanilla Light inf tag was used to tag skirms, archers, etc.. and Heavy Inf includes hand inf and muskets. In subsequent expansions the "Light Inf" from vanilla was retagged to just "Infantry" and the heavy infantry remained heavy infantry. However, coyote runners and disciples and the such received the new Light inf tag. Thus Heavy inf in the expansions have multipliers against Light inf bc this tag encompasses cavalry-like units and this makes sense with Heavy inf already having multipliers in melee against cavalry. Imo it would've been easier to label these expansion units as abstract infantry and leave the vanilla Light Inf tag unchanged but to each their own.
