How can I get experience?

I just started playing online, so my rank/home city level is very low. I'm seeing maybe 1-2 games with ESOC patch if I'm lucky, and I'm always kicked out when I join.

I tried hosting but nobody joins.

How am I supposed to play and gain experience?

trading posts, training units, killing enemy units/vills are the best ways.

It's nearly impossible to get a game on EP if you don't set it up in advance, especially at lower ranks. Make a thread listing your rank and the times you can play, and you'll probably get responses.

You should learn to play on RE (the normal patch) to start with at low lvl. Use the XP mod as suggested above to get your home cities up to scratch. When you are joining a lobby too make sure the host is of a similiar rank to you. Most players won't let people more than 5+ ranks below them to play in their games as it just becomes a huge stomp which is fun for no one.

Since your a new starter to online , don't play on ESOC patch just play on the normal version of the game, it will be a lot easier to find games on it.
