Starting villagers

Why are there different number of starting villagers for each civ and how would the meta change (or break) If each civ started with the equivalent of 6 european settlers?

Yh i get that but as an example sioux start with 5 vills normal resources but russia has 5 vills and a lot more starting res. Dutch have seven vills where germany and france set the precedent of the equivalent of 6 vills. What i am saying is is that there isn't 'Balance' as such at the very stat of the game, sure this isnt considering anything else like civ bonuses but how would the meta be if every civ started with 6 vills (5 for french as cdb = 6 euro vills)

Every civ starts with 6 vill equivalent apart from Russia, Aztec, Iro and Sioux, all with 5 vills. The question I should have proposed is why do the WC civs start with 1 less vill, we always talk about these civs having poor eco so why isn't/wasn't addressed in the ESOC patches? Please no sarcastic comments like @deleted_user4 ,

WC civs also have more crates. And they start with less vills because they are weaker economically but stronger army wise.

Russia is 5v but more res
Ports is less res but 7v
Iro is 5v but travois = exp = early 3v shipment but they are generally 15-30 sex slower to 800f
Aztex is 5v but warrior priest = tp = early 3v etc like iro
Sioux is 5v but no houses or a need to build houses. Also they get a lot of food crates. Usually 15 sec later to 800f but can be a bit fastee if you find tres.

You are making the mistake of thinking in absolutes in a complex game.

Changing number of vills to 6 would buff all the ones that start with less than 6 and nerf the ones that start with more than 6. Now ask yourself: Do these civs need these buffs/nerfs?

Are any of the WC currently considered top 5 in the civ pool atm on current patch onEP? i think i remember sioux took a little hit since the civ overhaul. I know that full civ balance is impossible but in the grander picture is the WC civs on par with the other civs.

Sioux is possibly the weakest civ on RE (in 1v1). They are far better on EP despite the BR nerf. Take a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=15077

Sioux isn't weak. It's broken. Sioux either wins or loses matchups based on maps and resources, and there's very little you can do about it. There is no in-between.

EP tries to resolve this by adding a weird gimmicky teepee style but I haven't played nor seen enough of this to see whether it's viable or not.

I've read players call sioux a top 3 civs or even overpowered on RE..

It just really depends on your civ or map. Each of those two either give or take a 50% bonus from or to you.

you have more time to find a big food tres like 90f, considering you can also spyglass with good map knowledge :uglylol:

With 6 vils you gather 6 vil gather rate x (vil production time) more food than 7 vils until 10 pop, which is like 120 food. Of course it is worse in terms of res and time but 10/10 can be more usual with 200w start.

I think what he is trying to get at, is that you idle your tc less if you start at 6 vills (and produce 4) compared to starting with 7 vills (and producing 3).
So it might feel better but obviously starting with 7, producing 3 and idling for 10 seconds is better than starting at 6, producing 4 and not idle.
