the off topics are in a spot where only registered members who are online can watch it! if you where to visit the site occatianly, it would not read. So what is the reason for that? why is the off topic down to members only? Do we have a dictator queen in charge of it?
this just happened without anyone saying if they condone it, or agree with it?
I did not like many of the trolls visiting, but guess what, they are still here @Gendarme and his followers. The only diff is that there is not many interesting pages where they can spawn their poinsen. That is _ there is not a room for us eigher. The reason is probably for PR purposes. People find ESOC because they are interested in AoE3, not pool chemicals or Martin Schulz. The off-topic section is a service for the people already here.

I suspect that this has always been the case, but don't quote me on it.

If you visit ESOC on your computer you can choose to remain logged in at all times (the phone site is bugged and frequently logs you out). This shouldn't be too much of a problem for you, dear Sitting Bull.

Yeah, with regards to the off-topic discussions, this has always been my opinion. People showing up and seeing that the active topics are about random things isn't likely to attract the kind of users we'd like to have. Mostly, we want people who are here to discuss AoE3, and want to promote discussion of AoE3. Off-topic is good for community-building once people are here.

It is also weird how you pop in every now and then, complaining that there is no good discussions here, yet make very few contributions yourself.

ESOC is first and foremost a site for AoE3 and AoE Online and not a place for you to express your political viewpoints.

At some point in the relatively recent past it seems that it was moved from opt-out to opt-in, at least for one person (me) and likely for some others. Whether this is a good or bad thing is a more complex question.

@spanky4ever ok, i was wrong. I asked internally and Buckethead let me know that this policy was active when active/unread filters were implemented in September 2016. However, due to some forum structure changes, this policy would’ve been reverted (meaning non-registered users could see off-topic posts) some time between May and September 2017. A few days ago the policy was reinstated.

But if you want someone to blame, blame @EAGLEMUT. (he didn’t actually make these forum changes )

do not know if this can be rescued? or if the game play could be more than euroean civs only. tbo the stream and the touranment games thus far, is pretty boring. only a few exeptions exept from that?

I haven't seen many threads lately. I used to make at least 10 posts a day and often more (actually averaged 20), if I would be trying that on ESOC today the only possible way would be to literally have conversations with myself or to respond to basically every post ever made. It feels to me like ESOC is much and much less active than it used to be.

It could be because the scheduling threads are just flooding the recent threads section.

Yea i feel like they should not be visible on the side bar. Would be cool if you only saw the ones you were tagged in but that might be too hard
